I like totes and milk crates for packing stuff, and the Coleman is just to awkward to Tetris with other stuff and make it work well.

all we use our luna satellite for is boiling water for coffee/tea or hot water for dishes if necessary

doing a 6 person/2 vehicle/1 stove 4 day trip at the end of the month and i'm guessing we'll use it a little more depending what we ultimately do for meals

I’ll toss in a small Blackstone. It’s not the most compact or lightweight, but man you can cook anything from pancakes to ribeyes with ease. Not having pans rattling around and having everything contained in one unit has some value as well.

picked up that same model at a garage sale, barely used, for $40. Came with a hose to hook up to a regular tank also. Ridiculous deal.

I have tried the Coleman camp stove with burners, the Coleman griddle, the Coleman road trip and a few others…..we have been camping for years and one of my biggest issues was getting one grill versatile enough to cook anything. We had griddle attachments, grates, pots, pans, etc.

A few years ago I came across the black stone with the side burner (they called it a fryer and came with a deep metal tub and basket for fries, chicken, etc). I only bring the black stone now and it has not failed us in making literally any meal we want. I can boil water for corn on the cob, rice, steam veggies, etc on the side burner and cook anything on the grill. I will never go back to using any other grill while camping. The other thing is the ease of clean up. A hot grill with a can of sprite or seltzer water cleans it right up. The grease dripping and mess of a gas grill was maddening for me when packing to come home.

I recommend these a lot too. I use this on the boat, camping or day triping. I also through it in a black and yellow tote for storage and transport. Not the lightest thing in the world but a great workhorse that doesnt rust.

I also have a jet boil for simpler things.
