Yeah, I wonder why Toyota has the 2 valves with adjustments. I wonder if each VB is tested and adjusted independently. As for John saying to leave the line pressure stock, is weird. I saw his video were he uses the Sonnax line pressure boost valve. That's how I came to buying one to do it to my VB. Unless he's talking about the other valve. These VB are way more complicated than the VB on 4L60E series that just one piece. I also saw his video on tearing down our transmission and I can see were a lot of issues can happen during a rebuild. They have sooo many parts. I have to give it to anyone that can take them apart, sling parts and bolts all over the place and still remember where everything goes. The bolts alone had me second guessing myself when I was putting it back together and making sure I got them back where they belong.

I ran it for 8 years turned up. Believe at the one o'clock position with no issues that I'm aware of. The boost valve is to help with excessively worn passage and seals better.

I ran the cheesy "rod" shift kit for about 8 years and he had you turn up the pressure to get a quicker shift.
I kept it at 12 with the new valve body.

Ok, as some of you may have picked up, I'm back in Oregon after my first year with a SC in TX.

How the F do you guys here not total your trucks? Wet roads and leaves on the ground make this a balancing act of driving like Grandma and Tokyo Drift...

Going to have to move the Sequoia TC up in priority.

Yup! I got tired of spinning at every stop. Doesn't help I get into boost down low in rpm. The AWD is where its at! Even with the alsd engaging I still spin...
I'm grabbing a speedmaster lsd with the 5.29 gears...I'll be selling my RW wheels/extreme country mt's and probably going with Mickey Thompson Baja legend exp's in 35's.

@reywcms did you make a decision on your rebuild? Will level10 build a 700hp+ trans?

You'll love the diff. The Powertrax Zuk put in for me a couple years ago is awesome.

Hopefully I'll do the TC this winter after I put my lift in. I've been tripping on it for the past 2 years when I came back home for weekends.

Does HP ever update their tune tables? I guess do they unlock other tables not on previous editions of editor? Just curious.

But leaning towards level10. They pick up the trans, warranty, dyno run it before sending etc. If they say they can build it for more than 750hp great if not then I’ll then hold the power back in the built motor plan. Really for what I do power isn’t an issue lol

You gotta inundate them to look at stuff. They usually come back with "toyota ECU is antiquated " how they have it programmed.

I got my ass chewed a few months ago when someone made a thread asking what they do when it rains and everyone is saying drive slow, and I'm like put it in 4wd since it's suicidal to be in 2WD with a blower and it's wet at all

Lucky me then. That's mainly what I run or Chevron. Down here in S.FLA it 87-89-93 and 91 non-ethanol. I also have a Shell account that gets me 10cents off every gallon. Marketing, I dont know. Do really have a way to compare, unless I a controlled study is done. I will say this, back when my Silverado SS was SC'ed, the day I removed the SC, the intake port on the heads where as clean as can be. Not a sign of build up or deposits. Intake valve was also clean. I only try to use those 2 stations, if I am not around one I find a top tier station and last resort, whatever is around.

Question about HP Tuners, @snivilous might know. When you hook up to the ECM and the software sees the ECM, does all its checks, etc. When I hit the re-write button, does the software use the internet at the time of re-write. So, is my laptop communicating with HP as it's re-writing my new tune file? I ask because I will be damned if I am not getting constant phone calls or texts message with these elections. I dont want to be in the middle of a re-write and call comes in. Also, I have to contact with my phone because my wi-fi isn't strong outside my house, so aint going to risk the computer dropping it because of a weak signal.

I've never had a car that liked Shell. I run 91 (highest available here) and every 3rd tank put a bottle of Techron in the tank & 4x a year run a can of Gumout 510011 Multi-System Tune-Up, Fuel Stabilizer Injector Cleaner & Gas Treatment

The internet connection is just to check to see if you are "licensed" (paid) to flash the ECU you're trying to write to.

With that said, it seems to need a pretty good connection or starts to freak out. I don't know if it needs it throughout the flash, that wouldn't really make sense, but I feel like people have run into issues where the Internet dropped out. Because of that I always tell people try to get the best and most stable Internet connection.

I have had it do weird things without a good connection, I have mesh routers around the house & moved one into the garage, issues disappeared.

Before the mesh, I had IP over AC but they were prone to weirdness, these TP-Link Decos are pretty amazing, I get over 100mbps everywhere, temps dropped so I was in the driveway filling all the tires to cold spec, this was outside the garage in the driveway.
