Whatever this forum told me to do
    an item I've been pondering.:stirthepot:

    Door Dash type service.

We eat at Torchy's tacos somewhat regularly. I'll use this place as my subject matter.

we usually sit next to the wall. <yes, my back is to the wall>

from this point of view we can see the Door Dash shelf thing.

for those that use this service, do you even care about who it is bringing you your food?

because we see some of the grungy-est folks picking up food.

what happened to the sanctity of food safety?

do you simply marginalize the service itself to simple delivery?
    because it ain't....it's nasty.

the saddest part is when we see old folks picking up food. That's sad. A true measure of this economy.

No. <I realize (hope) you are being funny>

good conversation comes in many forms.

    some is funny as hell

    some is heavy

    some is controversial

    some is educational

    but it is all worthy.

    except the Dad jokes.....

In other news. Leg day. Deep squats. Calf raises. Dead lifts. Lunges. Etc…

Does anyone else switch their overhand/underhand grip halfway through each set?

I'm overhand until my grip fails.

    then....
    yes...
    I will use straps.

Today is heavy bench day. Floor press using chains. DB press. Lat work. Abs.

exciting stuff for me because my son's new schedule is fitting in.

In other other news, last night was surreal. I live in a neighborhood that lots of randos like to descend upon to trick-or-treat. They pile out of the car, adults too, and grab way too much candy at the houses where people set a bowl out with instructions to take 1 or 2 each. They’re often not even dressed up and are often very vulgar even with littles around. So we chose to not participate this year.

Instead, we took our kids to another family’s house. Well outside of the city. Their little neighborhood was absolutely covered in families. No one being greedy. Everyone was polite and dressed up. A couple families were handing out flashing LED necklaces and such (kids were still at it well after sunset). No adults sticking their hands in people’s candy bowls. No one acting like unsocialized hooligans. I didn’t even know where my kids were for two hours, and I was fine with it. Felt like when I was a kid. All the parents hung out at one house with potluck chili and soup and wine.

I want to protect that little enclave of wholesomeness at all costs. Feels like a matter of time before the word gets out and it gets overrun, too. The fact that it is the exception rather than the norm is depressing. This is the last holiday that is centered around actually interacting with your neighbors, and it is being ruined by our descent into a zero-trust society.

Hope you're not like my new neighborhood who blows his leaves into the street between our houses so passing cars can blow them onto my lawn.

You had it all going so good, right until the last line.

I'd say the range one wound up being educational for me. Not being super well travelled I just figured ranges worked the same everywhere, and apparently that's just not the case. They don't have and RO all the time, they don't necessarily have the same rules, etc. Very eye opening. I also appreciate the grace you exercised with my response.

I'd go to the range with you any time.... and I'd even put my pew in the rack for ya!

His eye twitches if his neighbor has a blade of grass crossing the edge of the driveway. I promise you he's not leaving leaves in the road.

    aww man...that's me.

I use the Hakuna Matata method....circle of life stuff.

If I blow into the street, the leaves get "circulated" back into it's original economy.
most go down the drain, which in our case, feeds straight to the creek. Ta_Da!

That's a beautiful piece. Is that pad original or something you added? How's the recoil? I've never shot a 45-70, but I've not had much use for one as I've also never seen a T-Rex roaming in the wild.

The house next door has renters and two 60' tall red oaks. I have a live oak, and it drops its heavy little leaves straight down. The red oaks drop their leaves wherever the wind blows - - mostly in my yard. Plus, being renters, they don't keep up with yard work at all, so everything that does happen to land in their yard blows over anyway. Plus they're paying zero attention to their big dallisgrass problem, and it's taking over my yard no matter what I do.
    :frusty::frusty::frusty::frusty:

I'm ready to move out of suburbia.

We'd like to move to an acreage but I'm thinking to wait until the kids are old enough to drive themselves around.

Don't wait. Growing up out in the sticks and the dirt is way better than growing up in the picket fence mess of suburbia. Wild animals are actually safer than people.

I WILL NOT use a service like this for these very reasons... It is my understanding that it's not uncommon for some (not all) of these drivers to open your food containers, take a piece/slice/sliver or two out for their own consumption; which means they are finger f'%^&'n my food, shedding skin rafts, dirt and everything else into my food trays and just downright not safe

what happened to the sanctity of food safety?

I'm pretty sure that went right out the window w/HIPPA a few years ago...:anonymous:

Bust out the baby powder and slip into your latex bedroom attire. Just don't let the doggos go for the ball gag. Might be awkward.

    You just wait
I have a firm and unchanging belief that towns with less than 12000 are what you are describing that you liked and towns with more than 12000 people are what you saw and didn't like. For example, when I have a new coworker from a big city, they say things like, "You guys don't have to chain your grills up!!!" Or, "I had a package on my porch all night and it was still there in the morning!"
Is that a fat joke?! :p me and my dad fit much better in my Tacoma than the rav. I'm actually really surprised at just how much I hated up front in the rav. It honestly just felt so narrow. The back seat was wayyy better than my Tacoma though.

I personally have never used Door Dash but I like that folks have the option. I would rather have someone who is at home drunk/high order some food via Door Dash then get behind the wheel and try to drive somewhere themselves while being impaired.

It also gives folks an opportunity to make a little money without necessarily having a fixed schedule or any specific skills beyond being able to safely drive somewhere.

I do agree, some of the Door Dash folks do look pretty grungy.
