It has been a couple decades from what I can remember. The wife saw them when we lost power and I was out of town, but I havent seen them here. It was a big deal lol.

Thank you! I am still in shock this kid has any part of me in his making. Too damn cute in my opinion. Learning more everyday and keeping us stressed for sure...

Used to see them in Dallas growing up in the 1970s..

I ran from Dallas to Big Cabin OK years ago for work.
I would see hundreds of them in an area around Lake Eufaula at a certain time of the year.

I haven't seen them in Texas or Arkansas that I run now...

I may try to do a series of photos that give me these 1 second video clips. from there I can make an 8 second or so video and share that.

We had s bunch of firefly late June this year. Most I've seen in my 12 years at this house. For some reason my grandmas yard was loaded as a kid. We used to catch them in mason jars and use them as a night light for a day or two until my parents made us release them.

Last time I saw fireflys was about 15 years ago on a dog buying trip in Peru, Indiana... Prior to that I had not seen them since I was a kid; it was pretty freakin' cool to see 3 grown ass man sitting on a dark hotel patio, drinking beer, and not a word from anyone... just watching them dance :)

We had them all over the place in Northern Michigan. We used to slap them out of the sky because their little lights turn on when you knock them out. Then we'd put them in the jars... I saw a few down here when we first moved to our house but they must of heard about me smacking them out of the sky in my younger years and left.

Last time I saw firefly's was in Wisconsin spending time and g&g's lake house. Must've been all throughout the 80's because I haven't been there since 90. Man how I loved seeing those lil buggers.

Yeah, when she first saw them I researched how to keep them and what they like and all that. Turns out, damn near everything our citys are doing kills them off. So I changed a few of our plans to hopefully give them a habitat here to survive. I used to go to PA and catch them in jars too, but I dont ever remember seeing them down here before. They are cool!

I've never seen fireflies, but if you want stars come visit me. I can drive 30 minutes and be completely outside of any light pollution. If you come up in winter, I'll even throw in the northern lights for you. :)

I could see your point on that, but when I go to SD, it would be highly out of the way. We have slightly different routes lol.

Come on down and you can see fireflies. we have some light pollution here, but it is minimal. No northern lights either, but we can drive an hour and you can see the Gulf and catch some damn good eatin fish LOL.
