Hey there! Recently bought a 2008 Double cab (TRD Off-road); was hauling my small utility trailer with plywood walls taking a fridge home and when I started the truck after the trip, it hums for about a second right above the gear shifter/console area.
Any idea what that might be?
Tried to upload a video of the sound but getting an “extension not allowed”

Maybe the recirculating/fresh air baffle returning to open or closed position depending on what you had it on before you last shut off your truck, I can always hear a motorized damper/baffle noise coming from that area about 30 seconds after starting and turning off my truck. Does this sound like what you are experiencing?

I think it’s got to be something with the air. Definitely sounds like some sort of door opening/closing. I never changed any of the air settings prior to the drive, wonder if it just started making an audible noise louder than normal?

Try turning the entire system off before you shut your truck off next time or at least your A/C. The closed position is the default position for that baffle if you have your A/C on and I believe it might also go to closed position every time you turn your truck off too, preventing fresh air from entering the cab while parked. I’ve never tried to get that noise to stop but I do hear it every time I start or shut my truck off.
