Hello. First time here and first for owning a Toyota. Just purchased a 2007 Tundra SR5 5.7L 4wd. Truck has 208,xxx miles on it and runs great. The 2 problems that I am having are (1) it shifts hard from 1st to 2nd (3000-3200 rpm) and when it tries to go into 6th, it acts like it goes into neutral. Previous owner said all it needs is some shift solenoids replaced. Just checking on here to see if anyone has had the same issue or any advice. Thanks

Need to pull the codes with a code reader capable of reading trans codes.

Pulled codes and got a P2714 and P0751. Both are stuck solenoids. Hopefully its an easy fix

Just went through this. Replace the sol associated with 0751. The 2714 is for the slt and is often a head fake. Pull it and test to confirm. It should fall within the ohm range and should give a crisp click when 12 volts is applied.

when the ecu sees a missed shift, it points the finger at both the pressure controller (slt) and the shift solenoid responsible for the gear that slipped, as either could be responsible. The the slt will create issues across many different gears.

the code will describe a lettered solenoid. There are tables out there that will translate that to a solenoid number, which is what you need to find it in the VB as well as get a replacement.

have fun with the pan bolts;-)
