So this is my sand car I just bought that is too wide to fit in my trailer. So I’m looking to buy a rack that goes over my bed. I was wondering if anybody has used these for a SXS or anything and was wondering how the tundras do with them. I have a 2014 Crewmax 5.7L. Thanks!

How much does it weigh? How much does the rack weigh? The payload of the crewman is not super high so you might max it out when you add the car, rack, and anything else you take like fuel and spare tires.

Check for a payload sticker inside your driver door.

Welcome from VA. I used to go out to buttercup, Gordon’s well, glamis, a lot. I’d see a lot of guys put different rim/tires on to fit inside trailers. Is that an option? Hi much wider is your sand car? I’ve seen guys haul toys on racks like that but always bigger trucks than a tundra.
Might be better to find a bigger trailer, then you can take more gear and toys.
Where are you located? Someone in your area may know of some deals on larger trailers.

What I noticed with the camper on the rails is that if its too heavy you are going to screw things up pretty quick. Mine has cracks at both front corners from the weight bearing down on the bedsides. I'm probably talking about A LOT more weight though

I would think a deck over trailer would be a perfect solution...

Newer to this forum and can’t find a reply button so hopefully I’m doing this right lol. But yeah my car right now is 84” and even with small tires I’m only gonna make up 6” and my trailer is 72” wide haha so I’m weighing out my options. Not sure which way to go yet.

72" wide trailer? You can get a trailer up to 104" wide without any sort of special tags or license. I'd punt the smaller trailer and find one that fits. It would make it much easier than trying to load and unload the dune buggy from the bed and roof of the truck, not to mention a much more stable ride driving down the road.

One of my neighbors has an over the cab rack for his SxS on his SuperDuty. He loads it up, hooks up his camp trailer, and goes. But watching that thing negotiate even neighborhood turns is like watching a sailboat hit a sidewind; it just keels over...

Cool car! What's in it, Subi?

I used to ride Glamis a lot, and I remember seeing people pull the A-arms together with ratchet straps and put skinnies on the rear to fit in the trailer, but even with that probably won't fit in a 6' trailer.

I personally wouldn't consider putting the car on a bed rack, that's at least 3/4 if not , ton territory.
