I just want to say that I had my 2017 Toyota Tundra SR5 5.7 V8 4x4 just got a Stainless Steel Standard Catback Exhaust System installed by Keith at Dirty Deeds and the reviews are true. COMPLETELY WORTH IT! IF there is any doubt head over to the Tundra or Tacoma forums, ABSOLUTELY a legend in the Toyota community. Anything below 5 stars in my opinion is absolutely BS after having spent the day with Keith. PERIOD.

First, Keith is a great American. You couldn't meet or work with a better OR more stand up human. He has great employees, takes terrific care of them and runs a tight ship. I wasn't 100% sure what I wanted, but I wanted close to stock. Keith took his time, explained the differences and his ability to back up the purchase if I wasn't happy. I AM.

Sound: I went with the 10" and normal day to day is in the ballpark (to me quieter at low RPM/idle) than the stock exhaust, love it, no more annoying droning sound, and when you accelerate it has a great growl. At low RPMs it a nice rumble, without being a distraction and no loss of HP (per Keith) over the 6" or 8". The exhaust has a much deeper rumble, and with the resonator it has a really great overall tone. As you get on the gas, it can get loud(er), IMO more than stock, but didn't do an A / B comparison, however the sound is there when you want it, and it has a great "race car/truck" tone to it on the throttle. Just killer. My entire family loves it. When they're in the truck its easier to hear the radio, and phone conversations are better due to reduced drone/noise of the OEM stock system, but....if you hammer the pedal, IT ROARS. Best of both worlds to me.

Performance: One word, SHOCKING. I won't say that I didn't hope the reviews or the conversations were true, but I was skeptical it could make that much difference, but as usual I was, and am, often wrong. Holy cow, Keith's mechanic/fabricator bolted on a stellar looking exhaust system in a wicked flat black....and man, I wish I had taken a photo, but felt like I might look like a bit of goober. They patiently listened to my JV questions, wrapped up, and I grabbed my truck. I got on the highway and WOW, I couldn't believe how much more alive it felt on the gas. My Son drove the truck the next day and said the same thing, and I didn't tell him I had any work done, so definitely not a placebo effect.

PRICE: I reviewed the options, and nothing I found touched Keith's price and quality combination. Look closely, and many will lack a resonator, may not be stainless (if you choose that option) and may be made overseas. The welding and fabrication is first class for an absolutely beyond fair price. Couldn't ask for anything more, except stickers (I did

Warranty/Support: Keith is, as I mentioned, just a great guy, PERIOD. I don't think I'll want something louder, but time will tell. To me, this seems the perfect balance in adulting with a nice low rumble when you get on the gas for some smiles. If you are unhappy, Keith will take care of you and I'm not sure you can ask for anything more.

Couldn't be more happy, craftsmanship screams AMERICAN QUALITY and it sounds AMAZING!

I'm now proudly displaying my Dirty Deeds stickers!

What is the approx HP increase if any?

I 100% need to give a call and talk it out one of these days

NO, it isn't quieter than stock.:eek2:
Especially when I go to work at 5AM.
But keep it light on the pedal and it doesn't seem to bother the neighbors..
    Less drone, yes.

    I've been running mine for 8 years..
Keith is awesome to work with..

I couldn't say exactly without a dyno, I'd just be making things up, but it's noticeable for sure.

My 2017 had an annoying drone all the time, so I usually kept the radio on. The new Dirty Deeds exhaust does not, it just kind of has this low dB and frequency "rumble" that if you are easy on the gas is in the background and not intrusive and under normal driving conditions, which is where its quieter to me, and my family.

However, as I mentioned above, if you get on it, it's louder, but not anything annoying or crazy, it just has a terrific growl. None of my neighbors have noticed a change with the Dirty Deeds, and I live in a community where being in my 40s, I'm the "Kid". Team Grandma and Grandpa will come over if anything is loud (including letting me know I closed my door too hard in the AM on the way to work).

From speaking with Keith, you lose zero performance with the 10" of 12" (which is supposed to be as quiet at stock or quieter if I recall). If you tow a lot I would go 12" IMO.

    Nice
I guess I don't really understand the sound of "drone".

My '21 seems quiet to me unless I punch it going 35+

Not sure, I know Keith had mentioned different years had different levels of noise as Toyota adjusted exhaust volume for "driver experience"
It may be the 21 is quieter than the 17 or maybe my 17 was louder than usual...lol.

Either way if you talk to Keith he will 100% get your laser focused in on the right exhaust. He knows what questions to ask to get you in the right system, and if not, you can simply exchange it, which is pretty crazy. You will have to pay shipping both ways, but that's a heck of a policy.

:amen:My 20" BA System isn't "quieter than stock" I had a 10" and a 14" and they weren't "quieter than stock!" When I buy another system, it'll be Keith's 24" and I doubt it'll be "quieter than stock!"

Sounds like I'm the odd ball, which now makes me wonder if my Tundra's exhaust was "as it should be" or louder than normal....or maybe I just need a hearing exam, well, either way I'm ecstatic with the sound level, and tone of the 10" and IMO its a great balance between hearing the exhaust/engine noise, and not wanting a vehicle that sounds like my wife's 4 cylinder Camry or a hybrid....lol.

If you are on the fence about the resonator with the 10", don't be! I think its a nice balance (to me), and if you're unhappy, Keith stands behind his product and the customer being happy with a pretty stellar exchange policy.

I had his 12 with the long resonator for a couple of months and it was too quiet for me.
I went back to the 10...:eek2:

As long as you're happy with it, that's all that matters.
I'll always suggest new buyers run it without the rez a few weeks and then decide if they want it.
I couldn't imagine not having the resonator myself..

It's amazing how people hear things so differently! I have an 8" system on my 2016, and straight pipes on my 2021.

My 8" system is not much louder than stock. My wife said she would not have known I installed it if I hadn't told her. It only gives itself away at full throttle, and does not become bothersome while towing a 5000lb boat over long distances. It did improve my fuel economy by about .75 MPG, and the drone is minimal with a resonator. I don't see how anyone can say the 8" system "ROARS" (let alone the 10"), unless you've been driving a Prius your entire life. And while I assume there is a slight performance increase, you definitely ain't gonna feel it.

The straight pipes are much better if you want your truck to actually sound like a V8. It's not raucous, but it definitely does growl at all RPM levels, especially at cold startup. IT DOES "roar" at full throttle. If you live on a 1/4 acre lot in the bougie 'burbs, your neighbor may complain when you fire it up at 5AM. Other than that, just don't floor it right in front of the cops and you'll be fine. And for some reason, the straight pipe system has no drone whatsoever, even without a resonator. Go figure.

All the above is just my dumbass opinion. ;)

Straight pipes sounds interesting, do you have video/audio?
I do live on .25 acre lot but neighbors are ghetto it might fit right in

    HP loss going straight pipes?

I found some YouTube videos, seems like it can get loud but not unless you gas it.

I agree with that assessment. Heads won't turn to look unless you want them to. Other than maybe for a second at startup.

No videos, sorry. No dyno testing either, but Keith can probably answer that better, if anybody can. Oh, and when I say straight pipes, I mean catback. I still have cats, just no mufflers. And yes, they still have a nice rich mellow sound as long as your foot is easy on the pedal. Very pleasant to my ear! No resonator necessary.

I would only recommend the 6" system or the straight pipe system to anyone who actually likes the sound of a V8 engine and wants to hear it at all RPM levels. I haven't had the 6", but my 8" is a little too quiet for my liking.

As as another dumb@ass I concur. I don’t really hear a major difference with the 10 except at start (just a few seconds) and hard on the gas. Towing is less louder. If you wanted more of a stock experience or towing a lot, 12” for sure. Good part is no HP with 12”. That said if you get on it, it is much louder than stock, which I like, since I rarely get on it.

Personally, I’m happy, I don’t tow much, and nobody has heard enough of a difference to mention it anywhere. I’m also not an aggressive driver and the resonator sounds great!
