Sorry if there has already a post for this...but couldn't find the exact question or answer..
So my daughter has a 2017 tundra crewmax SR5 TRD and wants to put 35/12.5/18's or 17's
Question 1. will there be enough room between the rim and caliper for the 17' rims I talked to a few tire shops in the area... and they couldn't verify it.
Question 2. I was told that 17's would give her a smoother ride than the 18's because of more sidewall...is there and problems if I she does go with the 17's.
Question 3 I was told that a 35/12.5/ will fit with a 2" level kit..will it? or should she go with a 3" front and 1" or 2" in the rear? and will that fit that tire size? Thanks in advance for your in put..

Some 17s fit, others do not. Check threads here for brands and models that work. Lots of info about that here, just search in upper right.

18s are no issues and would offer less headaches if you are unsure on 17s.

1250 tires will need around +25 offset wheels to clear uca. Expect to lose mudflaps, front airflaps under bumper, may need bumper spacer and other trimming or body mount chop, depending on the tire and wheel. May need to trim skid plate.

Or, get the 35 inch tall tire but thinner- 285/75-18 is much easier fitment, fits on leveled truck/stock TRD pros and even clears everything with the stock +60 offset wheels. Skid may need ears trimmed off if it is the OR version, TRD will fit fine. Also 285/75-18 weigh a lot less than 35x1250 which will translate to better acceleration and MPG.

As far as suspension, research here some. I would skip the spacer level kits and just do it right once with lifted/adjustable coilovers. The stock springs/shocks wont control the heavy tires well, so the ride and handling will degrade and if her truck has miles approaching 80k, original shocks are losing effectiveness anyway. 6112s or Eibach pro truck setups are not expensive, will be a major improvement over a spacer level.
