Oh hell no, my parents are in their early 70's and I would rather get a circumcision from a rabid crocodile than help them with tech issues. On a scale of one to 10, its about a 34.8, for your own mental health, try to find another flip phone.

Oh man, that sounds like a nightmare. You probably have to hide all the good/original stuff from everybody. Better than dealing with these TPS reports I keep hearing about though.

 

I love spreadsheets....they make life easy for us on the financial side.

I use it for all my reports.

however; i use a program called F9. it reads my accounting database & auto populates my spreadsheets.

life is easy.

 

Sounds like the trick is to be good at them, but not let anyone else know you’re good at them, or be your own boss, or both maybe.

 

the minute they know you are good....it's on.

 

here at the office...the only time I jump in on an excel issue is when I can help a teammate be more efficient.

the folks here are very fast learners. I am floored how fast they learn.

It is amazing to see the next generations and all the pros and cons they bring to the workplace. But while they were running around being efficient and scoping out the next rung in their career ladder, I was quietly buying a boatload of Zoom stock.

If you'd look like an a55h013 for not helping her, get her an older/cheaper iphone and help her with it. Unless she's in the house with you, you won't be able to help her fast enough, she'll get frustrated, and ask for her flip phone back. And you won't be the a55h013.

 

At my company we have a report actually named TPS. I have to remind my direct reports to complete them once per year. I think I've worn Office Space memes out in the years since they adopted the name.

 

My goal is to clear every app from screen and only have buttons for calling the 4 people she calls
And the messages button.

This will leave only 1256 questions left to be asked

 

I'll start a pool on the first four...

'how do I tweet?'
'how do I take pictures?'
'how do I face time?'
'are there videos of puppies?'

 

Thats my parents problem, they ask about features that they'll never use and then they get frustrated when I use tech lingo like, "app", "hold it with your finger and drag it", and the ever so popular, "I tried to take a picture of my screen but all I get is the room behind it"......baby jeebus give me strength, excuse me, I'm just going to go outside and hit myself over the head with a cinder block, be right back

 

Really I shouldn’t say cons working with other generations, everyone brings different skills and ideas.

How are you conflicted? They murdered their parents. They were sentenced after a 2nd trial in July 1996. They shouldn't have been breathing in August.

Is this bumping up against a rule? I feel like this might be bumping up against a rule...

 

If it happened, maybe their dad needed to die. But why wasn't that even mentioned before 7 months had passed after the murders, when the defense was grasping at straws? They were 19 and 21 when they murdered BOTH parents, not just the dad.

They were unsupervised, ne'er-do-well, entitled little shits who had been on a crime spree just prior to the murders. Their stories didn't hold water from the 911 call through the end of the 2nd trial. It's just a bridge too far for me. Not torn at all.
