    Happy Friday y’all,
Looking for some ideas with mainly aesthetic upgrades for the second gen that would help me out a bit. Open to performance upgrades as well. Haven’t done much to her in a while. Any links to solid products or any inspiration would be appreciated Dropping a pic for y’all.

You can thank me later. Best upgrade I've done for normally aspirated. Of course if you want to go supercharged that changes things. The overland Taylor tune really pepped up my truck.

Headlights make a huge difference and freshen up the front end. The VLAND Sequoia headlights are awesome on these trucks. But I’m a little biased.

I got to go that way. Looks better than the fender lines, which seem lame.

So no supercharger, just a full on proper tune? What do they do that's beyond normal tune?
Well, I guess I'll find out. There is in fact a local shop, Yota Tune close to my hometown in Canada. I'll be dropping in for some info. Very cool. The US quote was about $550. My curiosity now what this guy will charge.

    Good recommendations.

Some type of cat back exhaust system; SPD or DD. Tank swap; OEM 38g or 46 TransferFlo.

    Jon,
They have different levels of tune. If you put it into sport mode it initiates the 1st level of tune, if you push the tow/haul button (if you have one) it moves to the 2nd level of tune. You have a choice of the levels of tune you want to start with. I can't remember now where I started, I think it was the 1st level, then Tow/haul increases that to an even more aggressive response. You can also start with a higher level of tune initially and then it just bumps to the next level from there. If you run higher octane fuel it really makes a difference. My truck is much more responsive with the tune. I haven't put it on a dyno, but there are graphs on the website. Those guys can tell you a lot more about it when you talk to them. I think it only took about 20-30 minutes to load the tune.

I also have a Dirty Deeds exhaust which helps some as well (besides making it sound a lot better). Highly recommend that too.

I hope it works out for you. I'm extremely pleased with mine. I already have a Tacoma that is supercharged so I didn't want to go through the hassle of installing one on the Tundra. Honestly, I don't need it.

Lots of great ideas here that the guys have already posted. I changed my interior lights to LED's. Also this has been really nice to have: https://www.headlightrevolution.com/XTR-LP-Reverse-Light-System_2?quantity=1

Thanks, I do have Tow/Haul mode. Ironically I plan to keep exhaust as quiet as possible. I really like not hearing my truck when
I'm listening to Elk bugle and talk. Just getting the 'cleanest' increase in performance is what I'm looking for. I appreciate your
explanation above. It appears there is a dealer close to home, but they don't list who they are or where they are. But we do have
one diesel tune place who I suspect is the dealer. I'll go talk, and learn from them and once I've got the baseline tuneup - plugs/filters
to all the fluids I'll drop in and see what they say. The site mentions ECU updates from Toyota, not sure what that means.
Are there dealer controlled updates to ECU and other computer components that we aren't aware of unless we have dealers
do the work? Just asking, sounds paranoid but in my line of work it does bring the question.

Mine was a canned tune. I don't think it's customizable. It's not like a Haltech, where you have complete control over your fuel maps and timing, etc. You can call overland and talk to them directly, they also have an email that you can use. I contacted them directly and their local guy called me back.

That actually makes me feel better. I don’t want some eager hot rodder thinking he can upstage the tune with some funky personal idea. I will be in touch.
