Anyone have a 3rd Gen 2wd that they take to the drag strip? If I had the cash I would get a 2wd, lower it, tune it and drag race it. Just wondering if anyone here does it. Post pics if you do thanks.

In stock form, running a mid 14 second 1/4 time is a waste of track time. A tune may get it to high 13s. Even so, not impressive lol. It’s a truck built, tuned, and geared towards doing truck stuff, like towing.

Would be cool to see as a novelty thing I guess. Could it be made faster, sure, of course. Will it ever be truly "fast" by most definitions? Not likely without an engine swap. More/big cubic inches AND forced induction.
You have a lot of weight and poor aero to overcome.

With all that, I still wouldn't mind seeing someone take the platform as far as it could go and race it.

With coyote F150s out and about, there’s just no point in trying to drag race a tundra but to each their own

That’s what single cab 5.7s are for but even then gets real expensive real quick. The 4wd single cabs weigh more and lose the “light” vibe to me (2wd can be sub 5k lbs and 4wd are definitely in the low 5ks), so 2wd definitely neat as a novelty. I’ve also been thinking a Tacoma 5.7 swap would be fun (with blower of course), there are a few that have done it. Possibly a Tacoma body on a Landcruiser or a sequoia frame/engine/ecu.
