I bought these Dorman universal seat heaters about 2 or 3 years ago.

    https://www.jegs.com/i/Dorman-Produ...X2aVQ-1n4NdpjP9AHgpS2EqAOGOHGs72hL2KguY3fi_dT

Had some time today and decide to install them. I have Clazzio covers over my factory cloth seats. I installed these directly onto my cloth seats and reinstalled the clazzios.

My question is regarding the wiring harness…..do I have to wire these directly to the battery? It has a fuse tap so I am wondering if I need to to both. Or. An I just tap into an accessory wire somewhere in the truck? The instructions are below. I am not an electrical whiz so please forgive my ignorance……

When I installed mine, I just wired them to the usb in the center console.

ok thanks - so simply tap into the red wire of the usb with the red wire of the seat heater and ground the brown wire to chassis?

Correct. Though I used a ground somewhere near the shifter to the left. I also mounted my switches up towards the front of the console near the upper most cup holder.

Same here, I tapped into the 12volt plug in the console.
They are all on the same circuit, but front and rear powered by separate 15A fuses..

Except the USB has it's own 7.5 amp fuse.

I also put the switches forward on the console.

@Glockman2018 and @1lowlife , am I understanding correctly that you clipped the red power wire on the seat heater harness and tied directly to the 12 v outlet red wire? Obviously have to ground them as well but am I understanding the power part correctly? No need for the fuse tap????? I assume that’s correct since there will still be an inline fuse and relay

Correct. I didn't use a fuse tap. Red wire to red 12v wire and I grounded it to a bolt underneath shifter area. Inline fuse and relay are zip tied to the shifter area. If I have time today I'll take a couple pictures.

Awesome thanks so much.....last question. CAn you tie both heaters to the same 12v outlet or should I do one heater to the front 12v outlet and one heater to the rear console 12v outlet? I am guessing one to each so as to not overload the circuit if both are in use??????

I just quickly pulled it apart and took some pictures. I tied both heaters to same 12v wire in center console. Never had any issues when both heaters were on.

Mine are also tied to the same 12v wire. No issues.

Are you still able to use the 12v socket to charge your phone, etc while using the heaters?

Honestly never tried since there's a few USB ports under the HVAC controls. The seat heaters don't pull that much power so I can't imagine it being a problem.

As you can see in the wiring diagram I posted above, the dash and rear 12volt plugs are on separate fuses on your 2019..
I tapped into the rear 12volt plugs with a POSITAP (positive and negative) and left the existing fuses that were on the seat heater wiring harness.
On my 2014 all the plugs are on the same circuit, I don't use them anyway.

I use a wireless console charger to charge the phone, which also runs off that circuit..

    You'll be fine, don't overthink it..

Thanks all; got them wired up this evening and they are toasty. Just in time for the cold mornings

Have you added a remote start to make the seat heaters already warm when you get in it?

Forgot that I never updated with pictures….took other members suggestions and installed on the console. They work really well.

The wife asked “where did you take that to get done; looks professional….” I immediately side eyed her and walked away before I said something stupid
