Next week I head down to Denver to pick up some stripped 18” First Edition alloy wheels to throw some good all terrains on. Only $400 for 5 of them, but I’ll need $500 worth of TPMS sensors and whatever tires end up costing.

The kid is getting my wife's 4R, which is better than my Tacoma. She gets a new ride and the LC is at the top.

 

No my wife put out lights for Halloween in a kind of attempt at a spider web.

Initial impressions are good. We put about 140 miles on it last night driving home on very dark two lane roads from Scottsbluff, NE to Hot Springs, SD. We were both very keenly focused on spotting critters moving around on the sides of the road. Had quite a few we had to slow down for. So not a lot of time to devote to unraveling all the features.

 

Donut had some good company while at the shop waiting for the tuning guy to show up tomorrow.

 

Land Cruiser party trick: push a button and the fog lamps change color from white to yellow/amber.

 

Maybe I missed it when you picked it up but OMG, you named your Crown Vic Donut? I'm laughing so hard right now. That's gotta be the best name for a car that I've ever heard. Mad props.

 

My wife is so jelly. That's the next truck on her wish list. Can't wait to hear more about it.

Pulled it all apart, painted the frame matte black, refinished the wood and sealed it, replaced the feet and my favorite was finding an inkwell for it on eBay.

Lived near the blackhills for 4 years. Loved the area and all hunting and fishing!

 

My wife saw one of those in Dallas and told me it needed to be my next vehicle.

If it makes you feel any better the only reason we bought this right now was our beloved 2015 Chevrolet SS was involved in a minor collision and repair parts could not be sourced, so it was totaled. Pretty sad to write off a car for 6 unobtanium parts.

With a $36,596.12 insurance check burning a hole in our pockets and the need to replace my wife’s daily driver my plan to buy a Land Cruiser for myself got scrapped and we were all set to buy a Mazda CX-90, but the salesman I had been working with wasn’t answering the phone. Given time to look around one last time I found this Land Cruiser in Scottsbluff, NE with people already trying to buy it. I asked why they hadn’t taken delivery yet, and told them I’d put down a non refundable deposit and buy it later that week. Sales manager called back 20 minutes later and told me he called down his list and informed the potential buyers it was shit or get off the pot time. Guess the squatters had to vacate their spot on the list for an actual buyer.

If not for an insurance check for a bonkers amount for a 9 year old car hadn’t been a thing I would have been saving more money through next year to get the amount financed to what it is now.
