    Hello all,

I just installed new 3.5-in lift loaded struts and UCAs on my 2010 Tundra TRD. The axle angle, tie-rod end angle, and UCA ball joint angle look close to being maxed out. Is this normal? Do I have something to be concerned about? Like more maintenance in the near future? Should I have installed anything else?

    Thanks in advance!

Generally, 2nd and 2.5 gen coilover lifts typically are around 2.5 inches. 3 inch lift with the usual coilover lifts is considered the max and as you know, everything is about a limit at that height. Need more info on the brand, lift, etc.

At lift approaching 3 inches, new UCA are typically needed to get the truck to align again.

As the previous post states, 3.5" of lift is a lot on factory suspension geometry. Basically you're stealing that 3.5" of lift from your down-travel. So now when you try to droop the suspension into a dip, or go over a harsh bump and need to rebound, it will have very little travel before harshly reaching the end of the suspensions travel. UCAs only address clearance and caster issues, they do not change the travel available to droop the suspension. Your CVs may wear out faster due to the steeper angle they will be constantly riding at. Typically the boots go first, the joints tend to be rather forgiving. Your sway bar end links should be adjusted, or some will remove the sway bar altogether.

The coil-overs are 3.5 in. lifted Rough Country M1 Monotubes. I did install new UCAs designed for 2"-4" lift. Also, a diff drop kit is installed along with a swaybar spacer and I will be installing a carrier bearing drop kit as well. It looks to me like the angles on the CV joints are a little extreme, but I guess that's what you get. Should I have used a HD CV axle maybe?

I will post a picture later this evening.
