I'm upgrading the leafs on the truck and I've narrowed it down to the Deaver K37's. I have some questions though. I've seen alot about running the TC shackles but curious if anyone has run the Camburg shackles. I'm also running King 2.5 shocks with Reservoir, are these going to severely limit the the rear end?

Are you planning on running anything in the bed? The K37s are very light duty for gear. Also any of those shackles are good the length is the key. The kings won’t be limiting

The bed is empty when daily driving and when we go out the most i have is some recovery gear. The heaviest load the bed sees is camping gear when we go out. Down the road there will be a spare back there.

These are the shackles I was looking at from SDHQ.

I was looking at their option also. What leafs are you running with them?

Shit, my bad man lol. I plan on upgrading and going with bypasses down the road. I made the mistake of not doing my research first and went with the Icon AAL. Needless to say they are very underwhelming.

I believe that if the Kings are for stock springs, they’ll run out of extended length before the springs go full droop. I’m more familiar with ADS, but I know their rear shocks are an inch longer (same stroke length though) for their Deacer spec shocks.

Truth be told, my Deaver spec shocks hit full extension just before my rear droops all the way out. I’m liking the looks of the Camburg 12” shock kit for my next rear mod…

limiting in droop but I meant in feel/load. But yes correct way would be to have correction brackets and longer stroke 12” shock.

I do plan on upgrading the rear shocks in due time. Can I go to a 12" shock or bypass without doing a relocation kit or is it necessary?

You can go with either a smoothie 12" or bypass 12". Either way the relocation bracket will be needed.

Mounting a 12” travel shock in stock location would be a very expensive mistake. Stock location shocks are only 10” travel, at most. Damage will occur the first time you compress that $1,000 new shock! And the one on the other side, too…

If you’re remaining mild and don’t plan to swing a big hammer on the trails, a 10” shock can be pretty nice. I still have 2.5” smoothies out back and smile every time I drive it hard.

I have the 748’s paired with ADS bypass ( stock mounting location) and the MCM shackles. The 748’s are definitely nice when I’m carrying weight, but I’m typically unloaded when wheeling hard. I think the overloads of the 748’s cause a lot of bucking if you’re not loaded down. If I were you, I’d go k37 since you said you stay pretty light. I’ll bet you’d see better high speed performance with the k37 pack.

alternatively, you could have a custom set made by Deaver, Alcan, or any other good manufacturer based on the exact weight and use case for your truck. Price will be roughly the same as an “off the shelf” option like the U748’s or K37’s.

Any good spring pack will be a massive upgrade to the OEM and I’m sure you’ll enjoy those kings.

I have K37's on the way. They should be here this week. Down the road I plan to go bypasses either ADS or another set of Kings. How hard is doing the shock relocation? Something to possibly tackle myself or definitely have a shop do it?
