I have a 2006 double cab sr5 that I bought about a year ago and the ac has always been cold and strong up front but up until yesterday I didn’t even realize that there are AC vents on both sides near the rear door panel. They do not blow at all but when I have my ac fully cranked up I feel cool air slightly coming out but no pressure at all like ac should have. I saw a diagram of the vent ducts under the center console and the carpet but I want to see if anyone else has has this problem before I go ripping them out snd investigating. Thank you!

You get the joy of checking all your duct work! Here's a handy dandy diagram showing the ducts in your 2006. I suppose it's possible a blend door isn't working for the rear or something, but verify the ducts are attached everywhere first. You're not the 1st I've heard complain.

Basically, the rear appears to get air from the door vents, it connects in the center console, runs across the floor and up into the b-pillar. I straightened it up a bit so it makes sense. I'd check for air and the two ports at the end of the "wishbone" section. If not, go upstream under the cupholders. If not there, then it's going to be at the elbow above "87213"

I always thought the rear vents on my DC were sub-par.

Here's a helpful thread on this issue were someone discovered one of their ducts was removed. You should be able to feel air coming out of the rear face vents no matter what vent setting, but they will have the most flow on the face setting.

Also check to see if your evap coil is dirty as well, that can reduce airflow if it is clogged up. Good idea to do this service anyways as our trucks are aging and do not have cabin filters.
