I think we're past that - it's acknowledged the dark web has All of our names address' SSN and much more info already being sold.

Best thing to do is update and harden critical passwords while using MFA everywhere possible. Luck all.

“They” can retrieve that information from the onboard event recorder on your vehicle by court order. Oh no!!!! Something else to worry about!!! And it’s not even connected to the interwebs!!!!

Your TV has recorded you for years. I almost got a job at a place 10 years ago where they explained to me that what they do is "collect every single click you make on your remote".

About 12 years ago there was an article in the Wall Street Journal that said Big Data was the oil of the 21st century. Boy were they correct!

Allstate offers discounts if you load a phone App called Drivewise. You must give it access to your location info full time. It tracks speed events over 80mph, sudden stops, phone use while driving, and driving between 11p and 5a (higher risk of accidents) Your score based on the number of events is calculated into a rebate every six months. You have the option to switch it off whenever you want, delete a drive if you weren’t the driver or in an automobile. (motorcycles exempt) Must have at least 50 trips per 6 months. The more “good trips” the larger the rebate. I'm only getting a $60-$80 rebate every six months. (( Wonder what they got selling the data ))

State Farm was same way. Had to give the app location access all the time, not just when using the app. I said no thanks. Why do they need to know when I'm going to the strip club when I'm not driving?

Nobody collecting/paying for data does it for our interest. *Yes, yes, yes, national security….even data collected that they say is in our interest, benefits them in far more ways than the smidgeon it does for us.*
