I’m not aware of a package that retained the OEM amp. No experience with the JBL setup but most of his packages I’m aware of come with adapters that allow you to use the OEM amp connections and wire in a new aftermarket amp. The consensus has been if you’re dropping real money trying to build a system ditching the OEM HU was a must because the signal from it is not good.

I will agree with that. The system kicks ass other than the hiccups of not having everything I should have had for install. It could have been far worse but the experience did cause me to seek out other options for center speakers etc. And I can’t recommend him to anyone knowing he is not reliable at this time.

    oh I see.
I have already ditched the oem headunit for an android unit but still have the amp
I thought he had some system for replacing these trash speakers that keep blowing

Start a chat session on Crutchfield.. they'll spec out what the options are based on your setup and goals. Whether or not you buy the equipment from them or not is up to you.

Crutchfield says just put 4ohm speakers in and it will lose volume

if I’m replacing the entire system, it’s easy. I thought what he had was a way to replace the components but I guess I misunderstood

I am actually currently in the market for a system and Taylor responded to my email with some questions i had real quick. I ordered his whole setup yesterday.
He is very detailed in the emails. So for now so far so good.

I ordered a complete system from him a couple of years ago and have nothing but good to say about both the product and his service. He was very responsive and helpful for me. I can only guess that something is going wrong for him because he’s always been solid and dependable as hell. Been waiting for him to put a package out for he 3rd Gen.

That is pretty shitty. Hopefully this doesn't turn into the experience i had with Valhalla shields. Fingers crossed

I worked with him for a little bit since I wanted to upgrade my Tundra and SC, but needed some guidance, he passed me to his son in law or someone else, and I never heard back from anyone no responses or follow up. This was a couple of years ago, maybe I needed more assistance than they were willing to deal with, so I moved on myself. I've been piecing things together myself.

Emailed him a few weeks ago and haven't got a response. Messaged him a follow up on Instagram, which he promptly read but never replied. Wanted to get pricing for some of the custom A pillars he posted here.

James has excellent customer service. His personal life seems to be something else though - sometimes he's posted about it online and it's a combination of health issues, small business woes, and taking on too much at once. I can't find it in me to write him off - he's helped me several times including once when I got burned by Taco Tunes. The man literally sent me stuff pro bono because he felt bad for me. I wouldn't have the subs and box I have if it wasn't for the "waffles" he'd host on Facebook.

James is 110% legit. If he's not gotten back to some of y'all and left things hanging, it ain't because he did it on purpose.

My system got shipped yesterday and is set to arrive tomorrow. I personally have not had any issues with him. Every email was answered.

i've never waited more than a few hours for James to respond to a PHONE CALL...... text get glazed over, emails go into junk mail folders, etc...... phone has proven BEST for him and i get that as it's the same for me..... even then you may have to try a couple times...... i know he's had some health issues for the last year or so and topped that with i'm pretty sure a constant need of help.....

Did any of you purchase the upgraded JBL amp he sells? Thinking about a 2 ohm kicker sub in the original subbox and adding the JBL amp to the factory one.

I just purchased tech12volts JL Audio package non-JBL with his recommendation of sound deadening and sub box. Decided to keep OEM HU for now, kinda curious how it would sound with aftermarket HU?
Kit included new sail panels with tweets, front and rear speakers, sub box with 2 10’s, JL amp and all the harnesses, bunch of screws etc.
Install took a couple of days because I’m slow but super happy with everything and way better than the OEM system. I also have great things to say about Mr. Taylor! He was super responsive to emails, texts, phone calls and would highly recommend!!

^^^^ Yes, and the website is still in the process of being built up. He ended up migrating to a new platform and working on making improvements to the original. He does spend a ton of his time actually building systems and doing installs, so electronic communication and marketing is secondary. But, that is also why he is so good w/our rigs... he's nose deep in them and does really care about giving folks good value for their money.

I don't know him personnaly, but have done business w/him and he would be my first choice for future Tundra audio. I've had a few conversations via email and phone, and in just those few minutes of our converstations, it's clear that family (and time w/his family) and community are very important to him. So, if they're elbows deep in w/a mess from the weather, I'm sure he's going to take priority w/handling that first; as it should be!!

I came to check on this thread because I emailed a few weeks ago about a sub-enclosure and I haven't heard back.

I don't like the idea of ordering on that website blindly and have it go into no-mans land.

I just got done installing a system from him and it is amazing! I emailed him and he sent the invoice through PayPal. I did not go through the website but I would definitely trust that process as well.
