Running RCA cables to amp under rear seat?

What route have you taken to get the RCA cables to the back seat area? I would like to run them along the door sills but I am having trouble getting them thru the post area between the front and rear seats. Would it be OK to run them down the middle of the cab under the carpet? Thanks for any ideas you can offer.

 

Running them down the middle of the cab under the carpet is fine and saves some cable length. The trick to getting them through the post area is to run a metal coat hanger or mechanics wire through first, tape the RCA cables to it and pull them through. its tight through there and that's the only way unless you unbolt the seat belt bolt and remove the panel.

 

It is no problem to run them under the carpet. I have the excess length laid out in a giant loop under the carpet behind the front passenger seat.

 

Thanks. I ended up running them through the center console and under the carpet to the amp which is installed under the back seat. 12' cables would have been plenty long enough.

 

How did you guys get under the carpet and fish to the center console? Did you remove the center console entirely? Did you cut holes in the carpet to gain access?

 

Just pull the top pannels off the console and you should be able to fish your cables thru.

I used 3' HVAC zip ties to fish cables thru the console and dash.

The carpet will pull out around the edges of the console, you just tuck it back in.

 

Late to the party, but if you want to run along the door sills, removing the b-pillar trim to get through there is super easy. Just have to undo the seat belt bolt and reinstall when you're done and be sure to torque to the correct spec. The rest of the b pillar trim is just held on by clips from what I recall and it was easy to take out and reinstall.
