We use them at work on air handlers, they are pretty awesome. I also made them get us the LnL grease gun too, no spring thingy. They are a tad less messy, but still need to be burped every now and then.

I’m a little anal at work about greasing, my partner gets it. I clean the zerk before……. And after greasing. The next time you come for service, it looks nice and clean, not a huge dirty mess

You'd be mad if you saw some of the bearings in our AHUs. Look like they haven't ever been wiped off.

I’ll change a bearing if I have to, but I really don’t want to. So if I can somehow prevent that, I will.
Also some of the units are big, but not a lot of access, so your laying all over shit trying to get a belt on or change a pulley, it makes the experience a little less shitty when it’s kinda clean

Thats my approach around the shop. Take the 10 minutes to set up the work area/cut station/whatever and always clean off any oil/grease on new steel before working with it. That oil from the mill is almost as bad as anti seize.

I’ve got one on the shop bench but haven’t used it . It’s so bulky I felt like I couldn’t lock onto a few of the driveline zerks. I should probably give it a try. I like my super old school tip that latches really easy.

Most of our shit is like 30 years old and hasn't had anything other than filters, grease, and belts done. I had to use a leaf blower to clean out the outdoor air intake on one the other day looked like it was wearing a sweater.

Post a pic of them side x side to see if the diameter is different? I want to think the LnL is a little skinnier……..

Hopefully it fits all the zerks, because it's one of those how did I ever live without this type things.

I had this one on the bench acclimatizing to the shop for a couple of months. I was talking to a buddy on the phone, installed it, and greased a few zerks on the forklift with one gloved hand and nary a drop of wasted grease. Generally this is a three hand job and I end up covered in the mess.

I'll report in tomorrow how it does with the driveline zerks.

    Edit 2:
This may be the first "Made in South Africa" thing I've ever seen.

We’ve got some 6’ tall blowers from like 1956 that have a 2” shaft that sits in a weird oil bath……. (Buffalo blowers, if you want to CIO(check it out))
When I first started, they’re like it doesn’t work……. Motor is same age and passed megger test. Bert and Ernie before us put a bigger pulley on the drive end, so it was over amping. It took us a few tries to get the right 3 groove pulley, but she is still crankin!!!!

I came across this relic the other day. There were maybe half a dozen or so when I started 17 years ago, pretty sure this is the last one. They were made about 10 minutes down the road, the outlet it's plugged into has a built in 15 amp screw in fuse.

Agreed. Have one at the shop.

I got one of those fancy no spring thingy guns at home that I haven't put a tube into yet. Pistol grip with selectable high volume or high pressure. Looks neat.

I love long drives as well. Done the SD to PDX haul a few times solo. It’s long but it’s a good accomplishment to knock it out in one pull.

I would love to get a 7-12 passenger vehicle and be the driver for a family road trip. But that doesn’t seem like it’s in the cards anymore.

I usually binge a series of podcasts to keep my brain alert. I do cramp up a little though and the constant coffee and sugar isn’t all that nice on the gut.

Well shit. I'm gonna be spending some time in downtown houston, so i was shopping for a bmx bike to cruise around on, pickup lunch for grandma, see the sights...whatnot. I'm not searching for a sachs madass, i just dont want to have to walk everywhere, and CL dumps this on me. How am i supposed to buy anything else?
