New York winter can be mild or harsh. I like to prep my finish as much as possible and protect it against the salt, rain and snow.

The Griots rep mentioned the Ceramic All-in-One WAX would last one year. Has anyone used it and how accurate is that?

Can you layer? What I mean is apply the Ceramic All-in-One WAX for paint correction and protection.

Then layer it with Ceramic All-in-One SPRAY for layering and additional protection.

Personally, I do not layer ceramics. A true ceramic has already bonded to the paint (if applied properly); so by adding more, it’s only fighting itself as the ceramic is not allowing something else to bond with it.
You could always do a clay and ceramic boost after a few months to help with any flat areas

So, if I understand you. If I applied the Ceramic All-in-One WAX and then at some point in the future did a quick spray of the Ceramic 3-in-1 spray, it would not bond to the first layer? I thought that is why they tell you to spray, wait 24 hour to cure and then re-apply.

I don’t believe that is a true ceramic. Not sure how well it would bond. Any ceramic I do on my own vehicles, or for a client, I do a true ceramic. I’ve never had to re-apply ceramic after it’s cured as a real ceramic would bond the first time

don't get me wrong this a $40. product and what you do is of a different level. I understand you don't layer a "true" ceramic, but in my experience griots "layers"(subjective) well. not being argumentative.

I just sent this email to Griots:

    Hello:

    I just purchased your Ceramic All-in-One 16 Ounces #10895.

New York winter can be mild or harsh. I like to prepare my finish as much as possible and protect it against the salt, rain and snow.

My question is: Can you layer the protection? What I mean is apply the Ceramic All-in-One WAX for paint correction and protection. Then layer it with Ceramic All-in-One SPRAY for layering and additional protection.

The reason I ask is someone told me that they were not sure how well it would bond. They said they never had to re-apply ceramic after it’s cured as a real ceramic would bond the first time. Are the products I mentioned from Griots “True Ceramics”.

I'll be interested in their reply

A spray ceramic may not interfere with it as much as a true ceramic coating, if that makes sense. For reference this is what I mean as a true ceramic (many different brands out there. YMMV)

For layering I’ve always either done a paint sealant or synthetic then top it with a carnuba.

My all time favorite combo was Blue Coral Autofom topped with Meg’s 26. I’ll use a ceramic spray wax and top with a wax because the ceramic sprays are not a true coating and seem to act like more of a paint sealant IMO.

    Follow up

The reply to my inquiry was:

Thank you for taking the time to email us here at Griot's Garage. For the best results and the maximum protection its best if the Ceramic 3 in 1 wax bonds directly with the paint as it will give you the most durable protection and gloss. However with that being said, yes you can layer it on top of other waxes and still get "some" of the qualities as far as water beading and self-cleaning properties, however it will effects the durability and only last as long as that base coat. Our ceramics products are ceramic waxes. Our Ceramic Liquid Wax can last up to 10-12 months

If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reply to this email or call our Customer Service Department at (800) 345-5789 6:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. PST Monday through Friday.

That seemed confusing when they stated: “effects the durability and only last as long as that base coat:

Their reply to my follow up was: “Thank you for taking the time to email us here at Griot's Garage. Sorry for the confusion. You will want to apply the All in one and wait 24 hours then apply the ceramic 3 in 1. It will slightly increase the protection. That being said I suggest applying the ceramic 3 in 1 every 3 months to help maintain the protection”.

I like the product; I use the produce. But when winter comes and the temperature is 17 degrees, it makes it hard to apply every three months.

Shit for that matter, just do a real ceramic coat, then maybe every 3-6 months (pending ur driving habits) just a quick claymit and apply a boost and be done with it.
