I finally got the time to tinker and change things.

I couldn’t find anyone using infinity kappa components in the 2.5 tundra crewmax. I have always loved how infinity kappa products perform.
Also, I refuse to destroy any more panels and I want to keep a stock look with great performance.

Picked up a set of infinity kappa 753t tweets for the a sail panel. They fit like a glove and are aimed perfectly with the stock hardware. Just pop out the crap jbl and click in the 753t.

Also picked up a set of infinity kappa 203s 2 inch mids for the dash. Again, fit like a glove and no modification.

I could not find any reviews on this combo but I tried and have been rewarded.

I much prefer a three way to a 2 way and now I have it installed and powered up.

I still have stereo integrity tm8 in the front doors.

I took out the sundown sdx amps. And installed incriminator audio ia3.4 s to power the three way. One runs mids and tweets, and the other bridged to run midbass.

I don’t have an official tune yet but just crossovers and level matched. I have been listening to the system for the last few days and I must say it reminds me of the sq vehicle I had in the early 90s. I loved that vehicle. Super smooth, great combination. I had to play with the crossovers a bit to get the sound I was looking for and wound up crossing the tweets at 3500, 203s bandpass 3500-500, tm8 500 on down.

oddly enough when I sold my amps the guy wanted to buy the sub amp as well so I sold it and don’t have my 2 12s running but the tm8s are VERY impressive. After the trip today I may do multiple tunes and have one without the subs for when I am with my wife on trips. She even commented on how it sounded. Very odd for her but she noticed a difference.

The infinity kappa deliver the goods with a well balanced sound signature, very smooth and detailed. Not harsh as all even when driven pretty loud.

I am using a minidsp dl but only used level match and crossovers and the stage is surprisingly good but will get even better with time alignment and eq but again I will probably just eq a bit and leave this as a preset when I have someone else in the vehicle.

yes the incriminator amps are known for sql and loud bass but there is a distinct difference between the sundown sdx amps and these. I’m not saying one is better perse but different. The sundown sdx is a fantastic amp and I still like them but the incriminator seems to add a little warmth and dynamics to things. But again there are a lot of changes all at once so that may have something to do with it as well. But I have had the sundown sdx amps for a few years and they were awesome. I didn’t pay a huge upgrade for the incriminator amps. Actually they are close to the same cost so it doesn’t have to perform better just because but it just seems different which is nice. But, when I turn the truck off you can tell the incriminator amps have a little higher noise floor than the sundown amps. They were dead silent but the incriminator amps have a very slight noise floor that is only noticeable when you turn the truck off just before the amps cut off. But any other time you can’t hear it.

so there it is. The infinity kappa 753t and 203s fit like a glove in stock locations and sound awesome.
I’m sure there 6.5 or 6x9 would sound great in the door as well but I’ll stick with my si tm8.

now I just need a tiny sub amp to squeeze under the drivers seat. lol. First world problems.
