Did I warp my new rotor?

    I made some mistakes here on my rear brakes
    I bought new rotors and pads. Should have gotten new calipers too.

    I went to go test brakes, and after 2 miles I smelled that hot steel smell. I drove on a seized caliper.

    It was too late to get the wheel back off and inspect, but think I screwed up that new rotor?

    Can you check run out with a dial indicator? If not, probably replace it.

    Tunday, I experienced same problem , sort of. Brand new rotor got hot and warped. My old rotor was OEM so I just had it turned and put it on. No problemo. Don’t ask why I didn’t do that in the first place. If your old rotors have never been turned you might want to go that route to save money. And, if the tundra you’re working on is the ‘07 u might want to consider new calipers. Or reconditioning them yourself.
    Also, I saved the new “warped” rotors and will have them turned next go around. I never throw anything away. Just ask my wife.

    More times than others, it's usually just the caliper slide pins that require some new lube to keep the caliper working properly and not binding on the rotor. A siezed piston is usually evident when compressing it(or not able to) back into its bore when servicing brakes.I've had the best luck with original Toyota brake parts. I would turn/resurface the originals a few times before replacing.(always mic before and after thickness) Just my 2cents.

    Went with the new rotor and calipers. Back in business! Nice to not vibrate exiting the interstate
