Just asking what the subject says... If a door is open and you try to lock the doors, the truck let's out a loud beep but DOESN'T LOCK THE DOORS. You have to wait until the door is closed and manually attempt to lock it again.

Conversely our 2004 Subaru Forester just double beeps to notify you the car isn't secure but as soon as the door closes it honors your prior intent, locks, and beeps again to let you know you're good. I'd like the Tundra to do the same if possible?

Not sure how to change the setting you mention but my 20 locks with the doors open. If I hit the lock on the key fob with a door open the locks will lock and then the truck will beep once when I shut the door

Do you have push to start?

Well, it works like I expect it to with the old-school key version. When I try to lock my door with the key fob it just yells at me for about a 5-second straight BEEEEEEEEEEEEEP and doesn't lock the doors... There has to be a way with the keyless version I have.

Mine does the same and is a 21. On my 13 I can actually lock it with the door open and just close the door after.

Tried looking through the vehicle settings and didn't see anything. Maybe it's possible with a tech stream edit?

My 2018 locks all doors with the driver side door open, no problem. Locks, unlocks without complaint. I did not try the key but will to see if that works also.

Edit: Checked with key, works the same. Doors lock and then immediately unlock if tried with the engine running, no beeps.

Have you looked up the stuff the carista module can do on YouTube? This may be one of the settings you can adjust on there

Sounds like you need a key to start it? I have push to start... Gotta be something with the keyless

Yes, I do need a key to start it. That may be the difference.

Maybe you have a bad door lock actuator?

I noticed mine wouldn’t lock randomly a few months ago, even after repeated attempts.

After multiple scenarios, I was able to find out one the cab doors did not always lock. This caused the vehicle to stay “unlocked” and not function as it should (turning off interior lights, flashing of security light)

    Hope this helps

It should be in there! Looks like Carista does have an option, see screenshot:

    Update

Got the carista and returned it.

Didn't ACTUALLY have the option for my truck. (With push button start.)
