Anybody running Coastal Offroad HC rear bumper on their first gen? Not many photos out there. Kind of a big decision since you have to weld it up and cut the fenders. Photos?

Last time I checked there were no photos of members with a coastal rear bumper, just photos from the website but I’ll ask in there too. Thanks

Looks good French Toasty. I was thinking installing the CO high clearance bumper without swings outs to save a little money. More I think about it though the spare tire will be visible underneath the truck and look funky plus vulnerable to puncture.

I did the same and made my own swing out. I tried to replicate their heim joint design but ended up doing a prefabbed swing arm pivot with stop pins and stuff. I also added more support to that corner of the bumper for the swing arm pivot since it will see more flex and stress. And added reinforcements to the “wings” that extend to the fender wells.

I highly recommend a tire swing out. You won't regret it. I have one on my BFF rear and I have a coastal front.

Do the sides have a tube that bolts to the frame? I know some HC rears do that. Mine does not.

From them it does yes, but not far enough forward into the wing so it felt very flimsy, I made a tube at a steeper angle to that other mount they use.

I thought the swing out looked a little different. How’s it holding up? This would be my first big welding project. Reinforcements and stuff making me rethink the BFF. I did their front bumper and it’s pretty sweet.

Yeah I’ll probably regret it later if I don’t. I’ve got the BFF front and love it.

I used some of these products to help fab up the swing out tire carrier on my jeep CJ a few years back. Their latch assembly system is especially pretty darn trick.

Yep that’s the hinge kit I used.

It was kinda hard to tell from your pic, but it did look like that’s the one you used. I used their latch kit, but someone else’s hinge kit. Maybe is was RuffStuff? The reason being is that i needed a different style hinge assembly for my built.
