Son goes back to college today. It’s 6:30am and we don’t leave until 2pm. Heck, son isn’t even awake yet. Walk upstairs to get some breakfast and the wife is standing in the middle of the kitchen ugly-crying already.

A few days ago I could see her formulating plans to spend time with my son in his dorm to “help unpack”. Had to flat out say “No. You two are taking the totes up while I watch the truck. Then we are gone.”

This isn’t freshman year. This isn’t a new thing.
