Guy by me has one for sale. My spare is in the bed on top of my Decked System so I’ve been thinking of relocating the tire. I hate it beneath the truck too. Some other swing out options are crazy expensive, so I was wondering if you guys thought this would practical. Thanks.

Never seen that one before. Looks well designed for an RV and the ratings are impressive.

Seems like a major pain on the back of a truck though. You would need to spin off the wing nut and a few other steps just to open the tailgate.

Sorry to have wasted your time guys, thanks for the input just the same. Seems even my stock sized tires are too tall and when pivoted to the side, still won’t allow the tailgate to drop flat. Fail! Next…
If I can score a used Wilco that’s a possibility, but new at 1k+ is not happening. Thanks guys.

Why not build one that folds down straight back with a spring tensioned quick release pin. That would give you tailgate access and a step to climb up too. I'll take ten bucks for each unit sold.:D

Great idea, but no stock square tubing, welding skills, time, or interest in fabing one. Other than that, I’m good. Much rather buy a second hand one at a discount.
