Collision Repair Advice

Hello!

Unfortunately my truck was recently hit by someone while it was parked. He more or less brushed along the side of the truck before coming to a stop. I filed a claim with my insurance and it's already been deemed that the other guy is 100% at fault. They initially were claiming it would be totaled but I protested and got a virtual estimate done after which they are now apparently mailing me a check for the repairs.

I'd like to repair what is mechanically wrong and put the additional money to other upgrades or a new car in the future. It looks like just the leaf spring is bent and will need to be replaced. There are signs that the leaf pack brushed the tank but I'm not sure if this is a concern or not. I drove it around the block slowly and didn't hear any clunks or weird noises. I also jacked the corner up and tried to shake the wheel around and didn't feel any play so I think the axle housing and axle bearing are okay.

I'd like advice if you think anything else mechanically could be wrong or what I should look at closer?

 

how much will they pay for the vehicle? might be better to take the check if you can get a good amount

 

Then buy it back for 15% of value - repair it (self or not you'll make $$$).

 

Agree'd, that damage is actually pretty light besides the suspension damage...... I could fix that for about $1,500 probably (have done auto collision for 5+ years though) the question is there any hidden damge, post the estimate on here
