I noticed after I parked and restarted my truck today that the eco MPG reset itself for some reason. Thought that was weird and noticed my range had increased as well, it’s almost as if someone put gas into my truck?

I read here somewhere that the fuel tank has a 3gal “reserve” that can’t(?) be used. Is it possible Toyota reprogrammed the fuel gauge to account for this?

    many explanation? Am I crazy?

All 3 Gen3 years have a faulty fuel gauge software program that’s gone unfixed. If you park on an incline, nose up or down, when the tank is about 3/4 full, when you start it up it will reset the gauge to Full and recalc the DTE. It’s even happened to me at a lower tank level at about 1/3rd. Easy to reset but if you don’t catch it you could end up running out of gas. Service Writers will Lie and say Never Heard of It or tell you there’s no fix yet (which is true). Theres a long thread here on the forum with the two most common reset methods. One for the analog dash and one for digital. Will be interesting to see if they just passed this on to the new 2025. PS-The TSB for the 22’ fuel gauge issue does NOT fix it.
