I LOVED my 3rd gen Tacoma, but over time found it growing small in the cab, a little under powered with a transmission that could never make up its mind. Other than that, a wonderful little truck.

I found myself looking at the new Tundra, to the point of sitting down entertaining deals on TRD OR versions with the sales folks at a couple dealerships. They were really motivated and before long began to drop prices to the point where I was seriously thinking about purchasing one. Then the new TT engine recall was announced and I just couldn’t shake the problem in my mind. A fantastic truck full of tech, and even though Toyota is doing it right by replacing the engine, just the thought of it breaking down turned me off completely.

So I started looking at the 5.7 and fell in love. What a fantastic truck! Everything has a list of pro/con, and the 2.5 gen is no different. But in the end this truck scratched all my itches and last month I purchased a new to me 2021 DC TRD OR at a CarMax in Reno. I inspected the truck as much as possible and found it worthy, and I’ve been cleaning it up and making it my own ever since.

Thank you to all those on the forum who contribute and help new owners like myself do their research. Your threads really helped and gave me the tools and information necessary to make a good decision.

Already done! One of the things I checked when purchasing. PO already completed it along with front grill and bumper. Pretty awesome upgrades if you ask me. I’ve since added some of my own mods and accessories, but like the Tacoma - there isn’t really an end in sight for ways to make a truck your own.
