Trying to resolve an issue with an over cargo weight truck.

Does anyone know if the GCVWR rating is online or in the owners manual?

The dry weight of the truck is 6870 lbs GVWR minus this is 230lbs
Leaving me with 230 lbs for driver , passengers, supplies, tools, receiver hitch

Problem is around 10% of the weight you’re towing will go onto the truck so if you’re out of payload you can’t tow anything and remain inside the manufacturer’s limits.

GCVWR is in the manual. Starts on page 201

Why is your truck so heavy?

Can’t speak for OP but my truck weighs the same or a little more. How I was able to achieve that -

    everyday tools
    Stereo, amp, subs, speakers
    Front bumper
    Rear bumper
    Skid plates x3
    Rock sliders
    Winch
    Bed mat
    Lights x7
    35” tires x5
Suspension mods (coil overs, extended shackles)

    it adds up quick!

FYI, the Combined cargo weight for these (truck and towed load) is around 16k pounds. Not sure how you could be over that with your setup. You have no payload for a tongue weight to pull a trailer.

I forgot to include my X2 battery that is about 40lbs heavier than OEM…

Hi-lift jack is another 40… the list seems to never end.

Got 2lbs back. :fistbump: I finally tossed them the other day.

Cut the foam out from under the back seat too - another 6 ounces there.

Thank you for the comments and information

The trd sport factory options eat up alot the cargo capacity. Leaving 1320lbs

So my dilemma is the truck is outfitted with project M and a build out in the bed DRY. Which is why I wanted to get the truck scaled before I purchased it.

What I had in mind was reduce truck weight to offset a receiver and trailer hitch weight. Then move supplies and non essential items to the trailer. But might be better to install a cap and tow a camper.
