    Hello Everyone,

I bought a new Locker'Down safe to install in my 2018 Tundra CrewMax Limited. However it won't fit unless I remove the brackets at the front and back of the console as shown in the attached photos.

Does anyone know how I can remove the fasteners holding those brackets in place? I finally found a wrench to fit but the fasteners just spin in place and don't come out. Are these fasteners rivets that have to be drilled out to remove them or is there an easier way?

    Thanks
    Robert

First, they are rivets...just drill them out....but you may get some rattle from the back (hidden) pieces unless you get to them. It is pretty easy...plenty of videos on YT on removing the shifter and rear AC panels.

Interesting thing....I had a '15 and now a '21.....I have never seen those brackets. I wonder if they are for something after market??

Never seen those brackets before myself. Wonder what was installed there prior? As others have said, just drill them out to remove the rivets and then the brackets can be removed.
