Wow just skin n bone. You're a damn saint man. Makes me sick what some ppl spend on one designer dog - would pay for a hundred or more shelter dogs to be free.

Apparently they moved out, and left her to die. We had to work through a lot of separation anxiety with her. She still has it, but nowhere near where she did. She’s about 80lbs or so now.
wish I knew where those fuckers moved to

I love seeing happy endings with these abused pups. Restores a little bit of faith in humanity. She's so healthy now - the resilience of dogs amazes me...

I'm very sorry to hear that. My 15 yo goldie has cancer and we're just trying to make her comfortable until she can go no longer. I can't imagine being told she had an acute illness and we would only have a short time to tell her goodbye.

For the most part. Gia is pretty good if she hears or sees something at night she’s going to let everyone know she’s there.

Kloe (the little one) is a sweet heart but hates many lol. The other two will rough play, and she doesn’t like it. They literally just paw her away as she lunges at them. They’re really good with her as she would be a chew toy to them if they desired one day

Sorry to hear that, hopefully it isn't the latter and you have more time.

Our older lab fought cancer for 2.5yrs before she could no longer, cancer sucks.

Thanks. I've never had to deal with cancer before...human, non-human, etc. Still processing ..

So sorry about your lab. I hope I can get 2 more years from my boy - ain't ready to let him go just yet. He hasn't told me it's time.

Thank you. Unfortunately I've dealt with cancer too many times... lost my mom to lung cancer last year, hard to believe it'll be a year in 2 weeks.

When our lab was fighting, she was taking low dose chemo pills daily along with some other things, she had some downs but many ups and everyone told us we will know when it's time. You'll know. If he's not telling you he's done then he's not done. Just love on him and make him comfortable, it's all we can do. We thought the time would give us time to process and be prepared, it doesn't...

Truly sorry about your mom man....I don't think that's easy no matter how old you are (or her).

Yeah I'm going off his body language now. We got his nausea licked, his appetite is back and he's begging for treats again. Hard to see what Doc is telling me but, again, this last test is gonna tell me what I need to know. The hardest thing is the grief isn't just mine alone because now he's part of a family. Before it was just him and me going thru life's ups and downs. Now, we have 3 kids who love him like a sibling. My 5 year old is gonna take it hard I think, but my wife thinks our 12 year old girl is gonna be really upset. I remember my first dog dying even now. It was the worst pain I'd ever felt.

I don't want that for them. It'll be hard enough for me.

    Morning all,

I read a post and mentioned a rescue before and after.

my girl Ruby was a stray and obviously a long time. Well, that was NOV 2018 and today she is a happy lovable loyal protective lover girl.

She’s was an underweight 40 pound Boxer, you could see almost every bone in her body. Ears frostbite, couple gashes on her face that were blood red. Since healed they turned grey once healed.

She has helped me in so many walks mentally I don’t know what I’d do without her.
