So I’ve searched all over Google and forums and I’m Stumped, hoping y’all can help me .

    I picked up a 2001 Toyota Tundra 3.4L V6 300k miles for a second little project truck “ mechanic special “

It wouldn’t start, no check engine light/ codes. So every once in a while on cold start the truck starts right up and runs great. No rough idle , no issue with overheating.

I’ll shut it off and then it tries to starts and dies immediately, or will just crank over and over .

Things ive replaced on the truck thinking it was a fuel issue , I’ve got spark and no misfires when the truck runs .

    new MAP sensor
    New spark plugs
    New fuel filter
    New fuel pressure regulator
    New crank position sensor
    New fuel injectors
    New fuel pump assembly
    New throttle position sensor
    New air filter
    New Fuse Relays
I’ve thoroughly cleaned the throttle body and air intake

Any ideas or solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

oh that was another part that had been replaced , the starter. Let me look into this

reason I had replaced the starter was due to it being bad , previous owner over cranking it with this problem and just time

since this was such a widely used engine in tacomas and 4runners, maybe you can find answers there as well

No - not the starter - but rather the starter circuit. Meaning the ECM's section dealing with starting - which controls not only turning on the fuel pump and injectors but deciding based on temps how much fuel to use and so forth. Find the FSM - its out there - pg 321 has the how to test this.
