On older 2nd gen that has key and remote/fob as separate pieces, can a newer style 1 piece with buttons built into the key work as replacement?

I like the all-in-one style better and need to get a spare set anyway.

There is a halfway decent flippy key that we've been doing on the 2g group on FB.

You'll need to identify which type key you have, G, H, or the one that simply has a dot.

    I bought these (Dot): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00Y1HR6VY?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title
And new fobs (my OEMs were getting soft and unresponsive): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C58PZM6S?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

I went to my locksmith who paired both the transponders and the fobs to my vehicle, and cut the new flip keys. I took the fobs apart, and split the keys to remove the transponder and placed it all into this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CX1QR8GH?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

Remove the buttons from the flip key, and put in board and buttons from your new fobs. There is a slot inside of the flip key for the transponder, I recommend using a tiny dab of superglue to hold it in place.

    They work great!
