When I was running this setup, I was switching back and forth with a 6" BA muffler system and my stock exhaust which I straight piped.

Which would explain why it was so loud. I like the look of this setup and will be running a magnaflow 11386 dual in dual out.

I’ve been considering chopping my exhaust tips back to the last hanger, but kinda feel like I shouldn’t cut up the nice pipes with my TRD exhaust. Does anyone make a dump pipe/tip that I can bolt on after the mufflers, or is that something I’d need to get done at a muffler shop? Or do I just hack off the TRD tips and call it a day?

I think @dirtydeeds has a bolt on dump pipe. I have also seen used pipes for sale occasionally. If you can find some used pipes then you could cut them.

I thought I had seen that at one point but it wasn’t on the website when I checked yesterday. I’ll give Keith a call I suppose.

Yes, Keith, @dirtydeeds makes one. Be sure to tell him you don't want it pointing straight down. I had one pointing straight down and it was almost comical when I stopped off road. If there was any loose dirt I'd be idling in my own personal dust cloud like Pig Pen.

Lol, yeah I'm pretty sure I read the post where you or someone else had mentioned idling in a washout with silt flying everywhere... That would definitely be a problem where we go out here.

Probably just ask a shop to save you a piece from scrap for $20 or a twelve pack.

    Hello,
I would call Keith Carty of Dirty Deeds Industries and pick his brain. No one knows Tundra's like Keith does. He is out of the office most days, but is always available via phone. You can call or text him anytime at 760-877-4234. He does take many calls and texts a day, but is very good at getting back to everyone.

    Thanks, Shawna, DDI

I just replied to your PM that had the same verbiage... I get where you're going with this, but I've seen this same response to exhaust-related questions on this forum (and Facebook groups) and it's starting to come across as a little spammy. Would be cool if every once in a while Keith chimed in on here with some responses that would actually help the community at large.

I just went and checked the Tundras to Sedona FB group and sure enough - same thing. There's no doubt that DDI's stuff is great. But this is not the way to market it, especially on a forum like this that runs a pretty tight ship regarding fluff and spam. And when Keith has built a reputation as an easy guy to talk shop with when you need help, this is just watering things down.

Good evening everyone, this is my first post. I've learned and studied a lot from this site over the last few years. Thank you everyone!

Anyways, I just finished cutting my exhaust back. I used the original hardware and replaced the tip after cutting back. I removed the last bend so far.

That will work well. All that really matters when using stock exhaust manifolds:

    1. Use all of the stock tubing (a little off the back won’t matter)

    2. Use a flow thru design muffler.

with those two things you will gain power, not lose bottoms end torque. It’ll potentially drone a tad, but if it does, we have a solution.

I run spd 3” equal length true dual 3” exhaust dumped after the rear axle. My mileage has not changed, my towing gears or MPH have not changed, my highway cruising gears or MPH have not changed, my MPG towing has not changed. It does rev easier and there is less resistance to accelerate especially the higher the rpm’s go while towing. Dump it and run it. It’s gonna be louder inside but I’ve experienced no situation where this loss of torque phenomenon has come into play.
