Catalytic Converters theft?

Kind of hard comparing the brands as I doubt many would have experience with both. Unless it's a shop/installer that could provide insight on the pros/cons of installation.

As explained earlier in the thread - I live in Los Angeles and mine were stolen in front of my house. I ordered RCI skids while my truck sat at Toyota for a few months, and installed them immediately once the truck was done.

Not even 48 hours later, my neighbor's tundra had his stolen and mine were untouched. I doubt the thief cared whether I had Talons or RCI - the matter of fact is having one is better than none.

 

Please note that you are quoting the full skid package. If you just want cat protection all you need is the transmission and transfer case plates. Granted, the full package offers a bigger discount, and is the best for off road protection as well.


Being in Maryland, I would recommend Aluminum. Won't rust, and bare aluminum will not need to be messed with. Powder coated aluminum will be black, vs aluminum colored, but road debris and road salt will still wear off the powder coating over time and it will need to be touched up.

Really comes down to personal preference.

 

^ That right there is why you should go Talon's. It's worth supporting a vendor who is active on the forum and willing to help. I went RCI because it was all I knew prior to researching on here
