Cruise control ⚠️ light

Hello from Texas gulf coast. New to the forums. I have a 2011 platinum 4wd I recently purchased. I recently came back from a shark fishing trip to the Fla panhandle. During the trip I tried the cruise control to only be greeted by a triangle with and exclamation mark and a message about a failure.

Question, the vehicle came.with a grill guard but had also had a minor left quarter panel accident and repair.

Just wondering where to start troubleshooting. Here is a link to the launch scanner report , it shows a laser issue so not sure if that is caused by the grill guard, accident repair or both.

Some ideas on where to start would be appreciated as we use this for 9+ hour drives.

By the way I love the vehicle and plan to keep it "nice" until the 2004 4runner rusts out all the way then we are swapping shark racks to it. After that all bets are off .
