The fan doesn't blow very good anymore.
It just slowly produced less and less air over time.
the filter was changed, but it made no difference.

    anyone else have this problem?

Which truck or car are you referring to? A 2nd generation Tundra?

This is what I do before replacing the cabin air filter: I make sure that there isn't trash (leaves, and so on) in the air intake area (lift the hood and take a look at the grill between the windshield and the engine bay). The hole for air intake is closer to the "passenger" side of the truck. You should be able to see if debris has accumulated in front of the air intake, but you will have to remove the wipers, and then the plastic cover to vacuum or remove the debris.

    a. If the air intake is not obstructed, remove the air filter, close the filter access panels (whatever these are called), then turn the blower from low to high and see if it blows more air than before. If it does it is possible that you are not using the proper air filter.

Other than that, there are other possibilities, including a blower motor that needs replacing. But before reinstalling the cabin air filter, check the following-after step "a" above:

-Check the air flow direction to make sure that the air is being fully blown to defrost, full frontal (directly out to the passenger), and directly to the floor. If the flow is strong, then suspect the filter. But if the flow is weak, then suspect the following (not necessarily in this order): obstruction in the air ducts or air ducts that are misaligned of loose (air leaks), air blower (defective blower/fan), and finally electrical or mechanical problems with the air directional control (environmental controls).

And don't forget to take a look at some of the videos at "youtube."
