    That's a hell of a deal
You're gonna have to let us know how that is. Today's your install, right?

Once I drop my son off at his friend house I'll go see if they have one and hopefully they do since I plan to do the install today.

I'm wondering if you could shorten the Accelerator versus trimming the duct on the intake. If they have one I'll look at a couple of options during the install. I was a jet engine mechanic so I have a pretty good mechanical ability lol. :D

Hmm, you could probably do that. The inner part of the accelerator has a small lip though that sits right against the air box so if you cut the first section of the accelerator off you'd probably have the stretch the accelerator over the airbox tube.
Screenshot_20240831_071247_Gallery.jpg The accelerator is a softer kinda rubber material, not like the stock piece that's hard plastic.

Ah, you got the expertise, be interesting to see if you find a different and better solution.
At $19 maybe worth buying 2 of them? 1 to experiment on.

Accelerator definitely helps. I noticed quicker drop in IAT vs not having it. Also slightly I think it seals the hole from the engine bay heat better so it doesn’t fill the fender cavity as much.

Yeah that is one thing that I didn't really like too much about having JUST the Stillen tube in the fender. It left open space around the tube for air to flow through so there wasn't a good air tight seal as you said.

If we gotta stretch it, then we might have to pre-install onto airbox and then squeeze it into the fender opening, it seems.

If we cut the accelerator to that first groove, will it still allow space for a hose clamp? Or do you think not?

@TacomaTRD4x402 Also, do you happen to know how much of the intake tube sits inside the accelerator? Or is it 3/4 that you cut off from the tube was the length of it sticking inside the accelerator?

You'll be good with just cutting the 3/4" off the box. I just wanted to be sure to leave enough for the hose clamp to fit but like I mentioned also, you may get away without even needing that hose clamp since the box pushes up against the accelerator. When you pair the accelerator and box, you'll see that it stops with that first section where the "TRD" print is because of the lip.

Dealer said the accelerators are backordered. Amazon has one but it wouldn't get here until Monday.

Aww dang that's a bummer. Are you still gonna do the install though? Run it without the accelerator for now.

About to take everything out. My SDHQ windshield reservoir relocate came in time just for the install.

Whatever this forum told me to do
before anyone gets lathered up on IAT's.

    <Harrop 77.5mm s/c setup.>

I had a stock intake and my IAT delta was 31 degrees.

I monitor this stuff all the time.

Then, my rear clips broke on the air filter cap, so i installed the non-s/c version of the trd intake.

it came with the accelerator, so I installed that too.

my IAT is still 31degree delta.

maybe the Stillen offers some other magic to lower temps.

    How are you measuring IAT?
That looks cool. Didn't know this was a thing. So main reason for this is to make room for a 2nd battery? It definitely frees up a lot of space even if you're not planning on running and battery.

Accidentally turned on truck when I took off the MAF. Was able to clear codes with my OBDlink MX+, but is there any other concerns?

In the Stillen instruction manual, it said I’d have to have the dealer clear out the codes…

Also… those Allen bolts on the lid sounds like those rivnuts were going to snap. What the hell man. @TacomaTRD4x402, when you screw on your lid, is it super squeaky?

I didn't really notice anything with mine. I've taken my life off a couple times and all sounds fine. But yeah like @reywcms said, probably some anti seize is a good idea.

Still throwing P0102 and P0113 after I disconnected the battery. Going to take it for a drive tomorrow and see if it’ll clear then.

But then CEL isn’t popping up, just when you scan it you can see the codes up as permanent codes.
