Can anybody help me with a fair price for my 2022 Tundra?

Have a baby on the way and looking to downsize the truck to an SUV. Don't know how the market is with the recall, but I personally wouldn't consider getting a brand new engine for a truck that runs perfectly well a downside. Was hoping I could get some insight on how I should price this for private sale in Dallas-Fort Worth, TX. I have no idea where to even start with a listing price. It's a TSS Off-Road with 31k miles on it. Don't have very many recent pictures but here's what I had on my computer. You will never recoup costs for aftermarket parts. You are better off stripping them off and selling them separately.

 

Why not just keep the tundra and put a car seat in the back? It has plenty of room for it. Unless of course you are sticking multiple kids back there then I could see wanting an SUV

 

Financially you're probably better off just keeping the truck. It's probably safer for your family anyway. At least you aren't considering a mini van. One word of that and the ban hammer's gonna start swinging.

 

Yeah, I'm aware. Not necessarily looking to recoup costs. Just had no idea where to even start for pricing. Just list at a similar price to other Tundras with similar miles from dealerships?

 

Another vote here for keeping the truck. You've done a lot of work to it and you'll NEVER see that again. If you strip the parts off it and sell piecemeal you'll get pennies on the dollar and all the hassle of shipping. Presuming you have the parts to go back to stock, you'll then have to compete with all of the new, discounted 2024 trucks on the lot as far as pricing goes.

The Tundra isn't going to be "worse" than an SUV - plenty of room for car seats, soccer gear (WHY?!?!?), and other "parent" type things. My 2₵ is to just keep it and enjoy.

 

We're also purchasing a new home and the truck doesn't fit in the garage. I'm in a much more busy part of my surgical training now, so I don't have much time to do the things that I needed a truck to do for the past couple of years. Figured an SUV would be much more practical.

 

I’d just keep the truck, especially with the resale value hit you’ll take right now.
