Almost a year ago i sold my beloved 2011 Tundra and after decades of toyotas (and hondas) i purchased a Ram. Hoping to be back in the Tundra family soon with a 22 Tundra (maybe a 21')
I am aware of the engine issue, but that seems to be covered by toyota if im correct? is there anything else i should look out for on these 22' year models. thanks

Not worthy. Anyone that would rather have a v6 should be thrown to the wolves and left on the rocks. These beta men are determining the direction of the future.

Creaks and squeaks thereabouts (not consistent in the build quality but it’s in the minor I would say)…
…you can see if you get a 23 or later so some quality fixes but overall I was pleased with most things when I had my 22

2020 laramie with 40k miles. My 11' tundra was an sr5 so going from that to AC seats and the big screen won me over. I miss the tundra though

I think you would be much happier if you found a '20 or '21 model with relatively low mileage, are if you can afford it, get a new '25.

I’ve been very happy with my ‘22.

Pros- Depending on how I drive, it’s either really fast and powerful or does reasonably well efficiency wise for a half ton. Tows effortlessly. Is a comfortable and stable road tripper and commuter. Turbos are fun. Does well for a full size 4wheeling. Transmission is excellent. Any thing that is actual truck stuff it does really well at IMO.

Cons- Obviously the engine recall. I have had no troubles and am thankful they are doing the right thing. My aim is to squeeze as many miles out the current engine as I can, get a new one, and keep racking up miles. There have been some other recalls, none of which have affected me with the problem itself. Wind noise. The HVAC used to whistle, but it went away on its own and that’s been that. The plastic seat cover on the driver side is a piece of crap. I am on my 4th one and it has cracked as well. The factory tires are an embarrassing abomination of quality. The price, although they are very competitive with all the others. I bet you could get a ‘24 for a great deal.
