I have a 2021 tundra Sr5 non 4x4. I bought it used with just over 8000 miles almost 2 years ago. have just under 25000 miles now.

    I’m having a few issues.

First, while sitting at idle I can feel a turbulence in the lower back area of the seat that I swear feels like a small misfire. But I’m showing no codes. This started about 2 weeks ago. Ran a fuel tank of 93 and have scanned it with multiple scanners.

Secondly ever since I bought the truck the transmission has always felt a little “off” . I’ve posted in other groups and I feel like I accepted the fact that they aren’t the smoothest shifter. But I fell like no matter how cold or hot I can feel every shift, especially if I’m in light traffic or stop and go. Lately it’s to the point I’ve noticed every now and then when I’ve already been rested at a stop. Sometimes 10-20 seconds later I will feel it fall into first.

I may have an extended warranty, I just don’t want to be with out my truck for how ever long, if there is something “known” that might help with finding a solution.

    thank you

Just curious - what did you drive before? The onboard ECU counts misfires so if you have a tool to view that data it will tell you for sure one way or the other.

I’ve only noticed hard shifts when the trans is stone cold - otherwise mine has been pretty seamless for 102k miles.

I had a 17 Nissan frontier 4.0 rwd. Bought new and traded with 57,000 miles for the Tundra.

I have a buddy with a scanner that shows live data I will get with him this weekend.

2021 SR5 with 73k miles here. I getstuck in stop and go driving alot. The shift from 1st to 2nd call feel really sloppy, goes sllippppp ..bump into second when I'm in stop and go. Done this since I bought it. It will shift pretty good when it's not stop and go. If I floor it it will have a little but of slip that doesn't feel great going into second. I have done 2 trans drain and refill. I think its just normal. Reminds me of truck transmissions from the 90s.

What you are describing is not unusual.

If you actually have an extended warranty, and if you are that concerned, then contact the company.

Have you done a visual inspection of the transmission under? See if there’s any sort of tampering previously?

Have you checked your trans fluid? Maybe try a drain and fill? Level the truck, drain into a clear bucket, refill with same amount drained.

Find another 21 on a lot and take it for a test drive. Then you have an identical vehicle to compare it against to isolate if what you're feeling is specific to your truck or a common characteristic

Because of the adaptive learning transmission, mine gets confused in stop and go traffic and can shift hard or weird occassionally. Sometimes I throw my truck in "S" or sequential mode and it greatly smooths the shifts, as it doesn't follow the drive modes pattern.
