Passively shopping new vehicles for wife. The first Land Cruiser we saw had round headlights and looked like the Bronco II to me. This one looked better, notice ‘not for sale’:

I like the Grenadier. Tried to talk wife at looking into it, but she realized it was more of a second vehicle for myself than her.

We’ve actually had good luck with her Jeeps. Two Grand Cherokee and an old Cherokee. My gen2 Tundra actually had way more issues. :anonymous:

I’m waiting for someone to say something along the lines of… they should have renamed the 2022+ Tundra the Grenadier…

I was a big fan, and early preorder buyer. Drove 4 hrs to do a test drive. Even had it built, but the speeding beep (beeps when you go above speed limit) that can only be turned off by touch screen, and the other software and small issues made me back away. Still like them, but doubt I'll ever own one. The other big issue is they originally said any Bosch mechanic could do warranty work, but then backtracked to dealer only. My closest dealer is 4 hrs away, so 8 hr driving for any warranty work. They don't seem to be taking good care of issues in a timely manner. And if they don't, they'll never get a foothold in the U.S.

I already have a 200 Land Cruiser, so it would had overlap with it. I ulitmately pivoted to a Tundra and sold my 85 Toyota pickup (for a crazy premium).

Im not trashing the brand, the wrangler is just not a comfortable vehicle to live with. My wife drives a JGC and it’s been great, but it’s worlds away from a Wrangler.

thats good info. I just liked the retro Defender looks with newer tech and BMW diesel engine.

But knowing the problems they will likely face, going only to a dealer would be a nightmare. Maybe they get cheap on the used market in 4 years.

I’m loving the LC so far (traded my ‘22 for it). Quality of everything is MUCH better than my Tundra was. As I said before, this seems like something they took their time with regarding design and engineering, as opposed to something they hurried through to get to the market as quickly as possible. I realize that most people on this forum want a truck (although very few need/require a truck; recreation don’t count as a need), such as myself before I sold my large travel trailer. So I realize the comparison is a little apple/oranges.

TRUTH! Tundra did have a rougher life though.

Oh I hear ya. She is also 5’2” tall and already has a hard time getting her kayak on the GC.
I might have to rent one on vaca so she gets the feel. Until then happy wife…

I didn’t drive one and only one set of doors were open but it felt exactly like the Tundra to me, except everything was downsized. The seats seamed exactly the same, even down to the cloth under the seat, but smaller.

Is there a reason the GX has been left off as a possibility?

At the Lexus dealer she found… a used wrangler. Ugh.
I couldn’t get her to even drive a 4Runner or Lexus the last time.
But good addition to the possibilities.

    Any other possibilities anyone?

I certainly agree with that. Everything just feels “tighter” than my gen 3 Tundra did.

If she has a Patagonia trucker cap and a pair of aviators, you’re gonna end up with a Wrangler sitting in your driveway.

Don't forget to add the (guessing) $10,000 more for lift & tires on top of the MSRP. If you have the coin go all the way and get the Hemi Wrangler (392).
