    Oh yeah, the cab mount 3rd brake light bolts up on the inside, with 3 nuts on threaded studs. Hopefully no one tries pulling it out from the bedside.

    Hey, sorry, and this happens a fair bit, but pls confirm. From what I see vs what I read, I think you've mis-identified female and male connectors. They are actually based on terminal type, not which fits inside the other. In this situation, female is the smaller of the two. Male has the "pins" which insert into the female "sockets". The female sockets are hard to see since they are tight to the walls of the female connector.

    So I think the brake lamp itself has a female connector while the OEM harness is the male connector (the bigger one), yes?

    Huh, All I can really say is I did pay attention in my high school sex ed class. But this sounds more like an entomology class I took in college.
