So I was at the dealer this weekend waiting for my key fob and was looking around at some tundras. I noticed that the one with the trd package grill seems to be pretty flimsy feeling. Is that normal? It seems like there should be some sort of support brackets in there. I put a nightshade grill on my limited but was still thinking about changing it to the trd grill, but now it seems like a bad idea.

Yeah, the one with the TRD OR package (And the TRD Pro one) have that large open honeycomb pattern, so it does flex around a little more than the other grills. I haven't had any issues with mine, though. Anything that would actually cause damage to it would likely damage the other grills as well since they're all cheap plastic anyway.

What isn't flimsy on these trucks? Not being negative, but half of the truck is the cheapest plastic Toyota could find, just like every other manufacturer out there. It's amazing how much all of them charge for so little. The price would be an easier pill to swallow if things were actual quality instead of just looking nice.

They all flex with ease there's way to much plastic on all vehicles today.
Is this all for fuel efficiency?
I mean really, everything is being built with lighter materials, aluminum frames, quarter panels and plastic all over them and aluminum blocks.
So I want to believe it's all for the F-ing Green theory because what else could it be?
On a 15 MPH impact they pretty much explode and it's going to cost $7K to put all of the recycled Coke bottles back on them, and I'm referring to all vehicle manufacturers, all of them.

Man, I'm not that old but I feel like my Grandfather on a rant when he would say today's products suck there cheaply made with zero pride.

I know this is a catch 22, but I love my truck and I will defend it because it's mine, but it just seems that this is the way it's going today and we "just have to" except how things roll.

I dunno,I just woke up and this was the first post I read and bled out what has been in the back of my mind for the past several years in thinking on how things are today with everything.

The tesla truck looks stupid as fuck but at least the exterior is built to last.

    More coffee....
