2011 tundra and my 1st major failure. Looks like the vally heat exchanger is leaking down the bell housing. Anyone know a ballpark park price to be repaired. Thanks again. 344xxx miles
    Other then maintance
    1. Right rear wheel bearing
    2. Starter went out.
    3. Possible vally heat exchanger

At a dealer? My guess would be about $2200-$2400. I suggest replacing the plate itself while in there.

First I’ve ever heard this - what would be the rationale in replacing the valley plate for a seal failure?

Carcare Nut (YouTube) advice, IIRC, possibility of a small crack was his reasoning. Either way, his reasoning seemed logical.

I’ve heard of dealers charging around $5-6k for the cam tower job.

That's what is going to happen. 345000 miles why worry about it now.

I resealed my valley plate only to find out it still leaks. That was a kick in the nuts. Since then I believe I've found it'll only leak down to a certain level in the surge tank & then won't leak anymore :crapstorm:

That is impressive with that many miles. Just a testament of how bad ass these trucks really are.

I'd gladly hand over 1800.00 to have someone else worry about it. Check with any private shops?

I wouldn’t play the “while I’m in there” game on a 345k mile truck. Fix what’s broken and send it.

There is an excellent independent Toyota specialist in my area. He charged $1140.60 to do mine in January.

They say you can reuse it but I want a new one installed for peace of mind.
