I was doing some work on my 02 Tundra this afternoon and when I finished up my headlights weren’t working correctly. Not sure if I bumped something or if it’s just coincidence.

Basically it’s just the headlight function on the switch that isn’t working. Running lights work, high beam flash works but the low beams won’t come on, the fog lights don’t come on and full time high beam won’t come on.

I’ve checked the bulbs, associated fuses, checked for loose wires and tested the switch but I can’t find the culprit. I can hear the headlight relay click when I flash the high beams. Any suggestions?

The work I was doing was under the dash but completely separate and unrelated to the headlight circuitry

It's got to be something easy. If you were working on it, you unplugged something, unbolted something or forgot to do the opposite. You said you were working under the dash. Take 5 and come back to it.

I was running a wiring harness for an aftermarket light bar. Battery direct and separate switch.

Update: things are getting worse as I poke around

My DRLs stopped working, my high beam flashers stopped working

I was able to run a jumper over the high voltage posts on the relay and the headlights come on but still no fog lights or high beams with that. The low voltage post seems to be working fine with the switch but swapping out to a working relay from a different location doesn’t fix the problem

Is the ballast separate or contained in the light bar? Disconnect it and see if it fixes it.

The ballast is in the light bar. Disconnecting it does not help. It’s a completely separate wiring harness with its own relay and switch. The only way its connected to the truck is at the battery terminal

What is the new light bar switch wired to? Has to have an ignition trigger no?

Nope. Battery direct. The wiring harness for the light bar is self contained. Lights work with or without ignition switch on
