When I had knee surgery the surgeon had me indicate which knee and then autographed it to make certain we were all on the right page (knee).

    Thanks.
She's still dealing with a lot of back pain if she stands (or sits) for more than about an hour at a time and numbness down the back of her left leg. Continuing with different mainstream and alternative types of therapies to try and help with it, but no real idea at this point if she'll ever be relieved of either. Doing her best to stay positive and she's trying to get back to work part time finally in the next couple of weeks. Her BF had all the hardware removed from his arm at the end of June (I think? or early July?) after the bone had finally healed, and they were able to get the infection under control finally by removing it. He's now back to work, and I think gets the green light on September 1 to be able to start riding MX/SX again.

Glad the BF is on the mend, but that sucks that she's having such long lasting impacts. How is her morale? Has this derailed life plans that she had? Not trying to be nosy, just breaks my heart to see a young kid have her life turned upside down because of some dolt's reckless behavior.

God god beavis. Now the beer habit makes more sense. Not that there's anything wrong with drinking beer.

    exactly my thoughts.

another terrible story and the pics of tree climbers to prove it. @TaquitoBandito has to be having a heyday with these. Don't be surprised if he shows up at your door for a better look.

I know you had mentioned her accident before but holy smokes. I broke my back in HS as well. Stupid accident self caused by my friends girlfriend who rolled her subi going way to fast. I was in the back seat and without a seatbelt on I was thrown from the car. I Fractured L2, L3 and L6. Recovery was a long road but with time and rehab I recovered. I hope she too can recover. Sending prayers to you and your family for her health and regrowth from this trauma.

When i do desert races, i enter the “adventure bike” class and race my KTM 990 Adventure. Normally i try to ride fast enough that when i crash, i get thrown free from the bike. Not this time, i was going too slow and my foot got crushed between the muffler and large rock. Both the muffler and my foot got crushed pretty good, but miraculously the rock came away unscathed. It was quite painful to pick up the bike after that. I then had another 30 miles to the finish line. Then a 6 hour drive back home sunday night. I tried “walking it off” for the next two days, but it didn’t seem to be getting any better, so i limped into the urgent care clinic. They didn’t do any X-rays, but they did put me in a boot…which i wore for exactly about 15 steps while i made my way back towards the waiting area. I crammed my tennis shoe back on and walked around for another couple days until i could see a doctor. X-rays then showed 3 broken up metatarsal. Surgery was about two weeks later after the majority of the swelling went down. There were lots of pieces of bone that the surgeon had to pick out and throw away. He was impressed with the amount of damage. He said it looked like my foot exploded in there. I told him it kinda feels like my foot exploded. The recovery was VERY challenging. I’ve had a few injuries where i haven’t been able to walk for a weeks at a time (mostly from skating and a couple from dirtbikes) in the past, so i’m no stranger to pain, but this was above and beyond since it lasted for so long. Oxy didn’t really help much, edibles didn’t do anything, ice packs not so much. After 2 weeks of non stop intense pain, i just finally gave up and accepted the fact that my life was a living hell. I then caught covid, but in an ironic twist, it made me exhausted enough that i finally was able to get an uninterrupted five hours of sleep for two nights in a row! That bit of rest helped my spirits quite a bit since it allowed me to get some rest, both physically and mentally. Before that i was getting about 3 hours up interrupted sleep a night. Too bad i only had covid for two days. As quickly as it showed up, it quickly disappeared. I wish i had had it for a couple weeks.

Currently the foot is healed up as much as it’s going to be (and i’m fine with that). It doesn’t slow me down much. I can still lop off a 6 minute mile without any fuss. My body weight and body fat content are also back up to my normal healthy amount (i had lost 20 pounds after the surgery, and it took me about 1.5 years to put it back on).

Looks like my foot was dredged up from New York’s East River.

Watching vids on my browser is a pita. Is that one of many vids where a donk clips his fingers in the door? Or the vid my kids have been telling me about all week (and then the wife had to tell me too) where some guy ripped his hitch out trying to extract F-150?

I don’t eat bad all the time but when I have a cheat day it is always special. For some reason I really like the Crash Burger… but only been there a few times and forget the name of it but I think it is called “Nana Fries”. It has a burger (double meat is best) with fixins chopped up and placed on top of a bed of fries, topped with their sauce. I can handle that for my cheat day but not every day. I will have a pic this time next week

    Reported.

Them’s fightin words! Not everyone in Oregon identifies at Portland ya know… I live out in the hills about 25 miles west of. Our official area is “unincorporated” Washington county. Rural enough that we can shoot guns off our back deck, pee in the front yard, and run loud grinders at 2am in the shop. I wouldn’t want to live any other place in the world.
